Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Almost immediately after purchasing my car, I found that the car was not shifting correctly. The crack staff at Plaza Auto Mall which changes weekly decided that I needed a transmission. That was replaced and I am still not happy with the performance of the auto. I also have a problem with the gas pedal. It is very difficult to push down and there is not a smooth follow through. There are other problems that I have with the car but it would take too long to write about.

  • Theres a reason theyre so popular - 2000 Honda Civic

I bought this car used in January of 2004 with a shockingly low 20k miles on it. While car shopping, I said that I wanted a 4 Door Car and a car that was not a Civic. And look what I ended up with? A easy to drive car that gets you from point A to point B with no trouble at all. I had a 1996 Accord before this and I enjoy driving the Civic more. It hasnt had a problem, which is great for a college student like myself. Decent looking car with excellent sight lines for lane changes or parallel parking, but I do worry about it being stolen. After 6 months with the car, I found myself saying "I know why theres so many on the road."

I bought this car a few days ago and am very happy. Its fun to drive, comfortable and looks great. I love that the CD player can play MP3s. I can put several hundred MP3s on one disc and be set for a while. Although the sound quality of the stereo is not the greatest, especially when listening to AM, very muffled sounding. I also like the maintenance minder system that tells you when service is due, and what service is needed. I am definitely happy I got the EX, I love the moon roof, alloy wheels and steering wheel mounted audio controls.

I love my new Honda Civic 06 ride. Its really good with gas cuz it saved me alot of time away from the gas station. The only thing I do not like is that it rolls when you are going up a hill and have to stop at a light. It rolls back. That is the scary part of it. But everything is just the best. Great car.

  • Great, reliable car - 1993 Honda Civic

Why cant GM make a reliable, high- mileage car like the Civic In 11 years and 82,000 miles, weve had to replace the brakes, alternator, battery and clutch to the tune of maybe $2000. It still gets 30 miles to the gallon in the city.

  • Excellent 03 Civic - 2003 Honda Civic

After buying this car I was very satisfied with the gas milage and power. The power isnt as much as an s2000, but its good enough.

  • nice car for the money - 2004 Honda Civic

Great gas mileage. I was going to get a VW TDI Jetta, waaaaay too much $$$. I paid 12200 for my Civic with only a few options. Even at 2$ a gallon it would take me 10 years to make of the difference in price. I test drove the Jetta, It wasnt that powerful of a car. Think twice before you are willing to fork over the extra cash. I also drove the Toyota Corolla, and Focus. The Focus remided me of my of another Ford great, the Pinto. They wanted 16k for it! Overall I liked the style of the jetta little more, it wasnt worth the extra $. The Civic also did very well in crash tests.

  • almost perfect - 2006 Honda Civic

I love the look, inside and out. I had a 91 CRX for 13 years. But, had the car 1 month. On 3 tanks of gas, got 24mpg in the city, 30 on highway, and I drive very conservatively. If I knew it got this kink of mileage I wouldnt have bought it. My 1991 got 2x the MPG of this car in the city!

  • Wont buy anything else - 2008 Honda Civic

I love this car - from the large digital speedometer that is easily in view, to the voice-activated navigation system, to the PC card input that allows me to play MP3s saved to the card on my computer... it is just awesome. I get excellent gas mileage, which I track very specifically (because I drive the car for work and am reimbursed for gas). I frequently get better MPG than advertised (29 hwy).
