Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Not much standard - 2016 Honda Civic

I have always wanted a Honda Civic always dreamed of having one! The deal breaker was the price of the car and available tech options. I hate leather seats....I shouldnt have to upgrade to the highest model to get satellite radio. My major requirements were Bluetooth, satellite radio, leather wrapped shift knob....the car drives great but having to pay so much for a base model with no satellite radio...even on the fit its not standard...I went with a Kia Forte.

  • 38/mpg in style amd comfort - 2005 Honda Civic
    By -

I traded my 1998 civic lx sedan for this one. Comfort and economy is even more. I spent $45 at the pump and was able to travel 707 miles. Thats 37.8 mpg, driving in LA (Glendale-Downey and all around). Thats economy with 127 horse power. I was first attracted on the hybrids 49/48 mpg with 98 horse power. However, I didnt want to sacrifice the 28 horse power a bit extra 8 mpg.

My college student daughter was looking for a replacement to her old first car and looked at many different makes of car.She kept coming back to this new civic. We considered a 2005 but once we test drove the 2006, it sold itself. The added side curtain airbags sealed the deal. Very happy.

  • HoNDa - 2003 Honda Civic

I loved everything about my 2003 Honda Civic, however, at 11,500 miles, my transmission gave out and I had to have a new one. MY drivers side seat also had to be replaced a couple of times. The seat tracks on this particular Honda had not been alined properly from the factory, and when I had it to the dealer for the 9th time they replaced the seat. However, it did not make a difference. I like everything from the ergonomics of my honda to the performance, but the problems with the trasmission and the seat were reason to rid myself of that lemon.

Just trade 98 Accord EX-VL, worried about pick up. Manual is great to drive, I love this car, and I shouldnt have worried about the power. This little car screams.

  • Best Compact On The Market! - 2004 Honda Civic

  • After 14 months still a great car - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

I have a little over 48,000 miles on my Hybrid. I have driven it in many different driving conditions from the cold in western NY to the heat of the Southeast and it has performed great. I have gotten just over 45.0 mpg. I have tracked every mile and every gallon. Over my 2007 Civic LX it is a 26.1% improvement in gas mileage. I do mostly highway driving and would recommend this car to anyone.

  • A Great Cheap Car - 1994 Honda Civic
    By -

The Civic is a great cheap car. Cheap to maintain but not cheap in quality. It will never fail you. Great for short trips/daily commute. Not great for long trips--too much road noise.

  • I like it alot! - 2007 Honda Civic

This car has shown me alot in my couple of months of driving it. I was looking at the 350z, and the rx-8, but chose this for the price and fuel economy. Its doesnt compare to the performance those cars will give you, but the 35 mpg average I get more than makes up for that extra pep, The interior design is great; I didnt think I would like it, but when I get into other cars I miss my design. The ride quality is great, my g/f has a scion tc and I absolutely hate the way that car drives now. This Civic is amazing I never thought I would like it so much, I was planning on selling it when I graduate college in a couple years, but I dont think I want to get rid of it anymore money well spent

  • Very Reliable! - 1997 Honda Civic

I had one less thing to worry about! I never had any problems with the car; just its average maintenance. It was very fun to modify - there are so many new things you can to do to personalize it. I am now a Civic enthusiast!
