Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Super Civic - 2016 Honda Civic
    By -

Weve owned/driven Honda vehicles for the last 35 years. The 2016 Civic is amazing. Not that I have ever driving a sports car, but this Civic has fantastic acceleration and handling. It feels like I am driving a sports car. It has all the electronic bells and whistles (most of which Im still figuring out how to use). It has a very smooth ride and for my first two tanks of gas, I got about 37 miles to the gallon.

  • Good Rattle Box - 2003 Honda Civic

Nice Car to drive, not extremely powerful but adequate for city driving. Excellent gas milage. Interior design is good, but oh my goodness what a rattle box. After 300 miles it had one serious rattle and several smaller ones - not what you would expect from Honda. I have to take it to the dealership to look at it, but I am not too optimistic about getting it fixed as rattkes are tricky to find.

  • Great Car But.... - 2003 Honda Civic
    By -

I couldnt wait to have one. It continues to be fun but after having it awhile, noticed a few bugs, and now have a wish list. But the car is great, and continues to be a favourite over our other cars. I like the idea it looks conventional, except for minor details which do stand out (antenna, spoilers, dash)

  • who would have guessed - 2002 Honda Civic
    By -

After owning several SUVs it was a pleasure to get back into a fun to drive car. Im way out of the demographic group that this car was designed for an get the looks of surprise to see someone my age driving this, but it has been a great car. The comfort (64"), amenities and the performance are unexpected surprises. Fortunately, for those of us who have purchased this it is a great deal and for those wanting a day to day performer that is easy to live with this is the car.

  • Great and fun. - 2017 Honda Civic

The sport in manual is the way to go. Plenty of pickup and fun to drive. The sport model is pretty bare bones but has everything you need!

  • Civic has grown up - 2015 Honda Civic
    By -

I recently purchased a 2015 Civic at end of model year. It looks good, has that solid Honda feel, plenty of pep, and roomier that I expected. It has as much interior room as the 2005 Accord Coupe I used to have. Love the back up camera. Gas mileage has leveled out at 30 mpg for the past 6 months; mostly all in-town driving. Price was good. Paid $17,300 before tax and license. Only negative is there is a bit more road noise than Id like on worn highways; hardly any on newly paved. I understand the 2016 is improved in that regard.

  • Greatest Car ever! - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

I bought this car in Dec 06, and could not be happier. I travel from San Antonio to Giddings every weekend. The first time I got 41.33 MPG and the second, I got 43.66 MPG. This was under ideal driving: I filled up just before I got on the highway and as soon as I got to my destination. I drove under 65 MPH without the air on. Absolutely no problems with the car. Many positive remarks from others. I bought the royal blue sedan. The car is quick without being neck breaking. I love the new two-tier instrument panel. Many good comments about this.

  • Thought I had bought perfect ca. Wrong! - 2007 Honda Civic
    By -

When I bought I never thought I had to see a mechanic again for a long time . Wrong. I had minor and major problems. Although I still love my Civic. Maybe it happens 1 in 1000 I dont know. Hope its not a lemon. First had to go back to replace split sun visor. Then battery. ( some times when starting engines makes a zzzzzzzrrrrrr sound. And engines does not start.) dealer adviser told me battery was changed. It wont happen again. Wrong still same . But I gave up on that. Second I had to have my Civic towed to dealer with tensioner belt, tensioner bolt, water pump and dont know what else. That day I wondered myself if I had bought a lemon car.

  • Need brakes again - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

I just got a major service (tune up). I was told I need brakes again. In less than 2 years this will be my 4th set of brakes. They say it must be that I drive in the city. Well I have been driving in the city 37 years and never had this many brake jobs in so little time. The car sits low to the ground and scrapes the front bumper when parking head in. The inside frame between the windshield and window is so thick and slanted that you can miss pedestrians in a crosswalk. Even the smallest bump makes a big bang and it is very noisy in the cabin when on the freeway. the paint scratches and chips too easy. Gas mileage is not spectacular. Im sure there is more. Trading this as soon as I can.

  • Fun, Fast, Invigorating - 2010 Honda Civic
    By -

Lots of fun to drive. Youll hear people talk about the low torque, but theres plenty of power to bring you to 60mph very quickly. Fast, fun car, with Honda efficiency and build quality. Typical civic interior design leaves a bit to be desired on the luxury end, but you get what you pay for. Car is very capable on the road and when driving aggressively through corners and on the highway. The sound this car makes when driving, is something that truly must be heard first hand to fully appreciate. All this with real world MPG rating supposedly around 28-32. The car and all its components feel solid and high quality.
