Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

this is by far the most fun to drive car i have ever owned and i have had many different cars in my life. the handling is amazing and the power that you get out of a little 1.6 liter engine is unbelievable. plenty of affordable mods for this car available. i plan to keep this car as long as i can.

I wrote several reviews and will try to keep updating how is my Honda doing. Ok As of today, no mechanical failure. Have a plan to change the brakes at 20K miles. MPG improved from 22 to 24.5 mpg in just in city driving. Tires are fine and have a plan to drive 20K miles with the same tires as I purchased with at 10 miles. Some people complained about tires, I would say that the tires are fine. Also, the brakes will go out on the basis of your driving style. If you are aggressive driver and like to brake so often, I think no one brake will stay alive for a long time. As of today I spent $350. $120 cost me for 3 oil/oil filter change. Plus I spent $230 for air filter change on 18500 miles.

just bought this car for my wife. after 2 weeks of hopeless negotiation with Toyota, i finally came to my senses. i almost paid 21,700 for a 09 corolla S series, with tax. that blue speckled interior is just childish. i was gonna go with the XLE but I couldnt see paying over 20 grand for a car with hubcaps. i decided to buy this car, and i got it for 22,100 with tax. WITH leather, WITH navigation. vs. the corolla. theres just no comparison. the leather definitely brings the car "to the next level". Its the nicest car youre gonna get unless you can afford an accord, or an acura. bottom line. and the only car for 22,000 youre ever gonna get with leather. open the car door and inhale!

I always do thorough research before buying and eliminated most cars with my first criteria for excellent MPG. (30 town/40 hwy minimum) I then started test driving various models from various mfgs over the course of two months. Many cars have very good ratings for MPG, reliability, etc. but the 06 Civic was so far ahead of the others on a visceral, fun-to-drive level it was no contest. Loved it! In this price range the Civic interior (including the dash) has a more upscale feel than other cars. Co-workers, friends, & family have been uniform in admiring the car for looks and performance. Excellent commuter and good in the snow.

I got this civic coupe in jan of 03 ..since then the only problem is the windshield washer which is kind of sissy at higher speeds when it sprays. car is lot of fun ...I used to drive a souped up saturn stick before i got this one and a Mitsu Mirage before that and drive the sentra every now and then but well when it comes to driving fast without making a fuss the sentra gxe is no match it feels its going at 100 when its just doing 60 while its the other way round in the civic

  • Not too bad - 2003 Honda Civic

Ive had it for almost week. All controls are easy to reach and use while driving, nice cup holders and storage. Adequate power off the line and passing. Handling is responsive and comfortable, the brakes are touchy. Auto-stop is nice when at a drive through (easier to hear and talk with the people for ordering, etc) Adequate sound system. Easy to install child seats into it. Minimum of wind and road noise. Fuel economy on my first tank of gas was only 37-40mpg highway (I commute 110 miles a day, so it was dissapointing) I refilled the gas tank, my trip odometer read 466 miles and 40.4 mpg, I put in 12.4 gallons which calculated to 37mpg.

I drove this vehicle for 33,000 miles without any complaints. Great gas mileage, sporty feel, and fun to drive. I recomment the civic to anyone on a budget.

  • Traded in my TSX for it! - 2006 Honda Civic

Im pretty much a Honda person, Ive owned the previous generation Si & owned a 05tsx w/ navi before trading it in on the new si. Hands down it is a COMPLETE car, handles like a dream, pulls hard thru all the gears and ergonomics are phenominal!! ONLY bad part was trying to obtain one right now dealers know the demand is high so there are alot marking them up. I got mine at MSRP after being shafted by a local dealer. However, there is NOTHING else that can compare for this money. Keep in mind i traded in a 30k TSX with navigation for this Honda Civic Si... if that doesnt tell you something I dunno what will ENJOY!

I love this car. I have had 7 cars since my 16th birthday in march of 2003. But this one is by far my favorite. The only thing that I dont like about the car is the interior, mainly the placement of the vents. With the vents on, you cannot point the middle ones near your chest. They blow right in your face. Its easy to fix though, just dont use them. :)

  • Excellent car! Should be an Acura. - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

Its a fuel efficient cheap to maintain econobox....without the look and feel of one. The styling looks like it should be carrying the more upscale Acura name rather then Honda. It has more of a bigger car feel inside rather then the typical cramped econobox feel with tiny cheap feeling controls. Same goes for the driving feel. While small and responsive, it has a bigger heavier car feel while cruising down the road and going over bumps, etc. Its not the typical loud, light, and easily blown around feel of other subcompacts. The engine has enough power to move it along very comfortably and you cant argue with 30/40mpg. This is what every small economy car should be.
