Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Excellent drive! - 2006 Honda Civic

I just had my new Civic LX coupe delivered to me last week. This car is just plain phenomenal. Its everything I expected, and more. Styling is perfect. It has a perfect balance of sportiness and sensibility. When looked at from the outside, it may seem that the interior is not very spacious. That couldnt be further from the truth. The front seats are more than ample (Im 6 feet tall, and fit fine. The person who delivered the car to my office was 65", and fit fine), and the back seats, though small, are roomier than expected. Ergonomically, the car is perfect. Every knob, button, and lever is perfectly placed. The car handles and accelerates very well. Its a lot of fun to drive.

  • Excellent choice - 2009 Honda Civic

In my opinion this is best value for the money car on the market. The fit and finish of the leather and the whole interior is top-notch, and clearly beats out the 2009 Corolla that I test drove. Both the Corolla and Civic are very close, but Honda has the edge in appearance inside and out, as well as build quality. The doors have a nice thud to it, almost like a luxury car, while the Corolla had a slight rattle every timed you closed the driver side door. Its those little things that made me give Honda my cash. Both Honda and Toyota are rated #1 and #2 in reliability so its hard to go wrong...

  • Civid Hybrid: Excellent Commuter Car - 2005 Honda Civic
    By -

Bought the Civic Hybrid for daily commute (150 mi/day). Very satisfied during first 6 weeks of ownership. Combined mileage (interstate and urban gridlock) is 48 mpg; highway mpg at 53. Very good low-end torque (I havent stalled it yet); generally a quiet comfortable ride, but pretty noisey when spashing through pools of water. I highly recommend the Honda Civic Hybrid for long commutes.

  • Fun-tastic - 2007 Honda Civic

The driving feel of the car is unbelievable. The seating comfort is very sufficient for all occupants. The heads up dash display is a little awkward and takes some time to get used to, but is very helpful. The exterior appearance is somewhat subtle but very appealing at the same time. I wish the front doors did not have the separate window panes, but it is understood as being different from the 2 door coupe. The gas mileage is acceptable, especially considering the 197 hp 4 cyl. engine. The vehicle is light weight and practically floats on the roads, but does not make you feel uneasy at all. Interior noise could be a little quieter, but the driveability is excellent so it does not matter much.

  • Luv R Si Sedan - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

Ive owned the car for a little over a month now and I love it. We also own a 02 Civic EX sedan and having gotten used to it over the past 6 years the Si is worlds ahead in terms of performance and handling. The exterior styling, IMHO, is the best looking Honda currently available. The dash, although large, makes me feel safer. 27 MPG average which is almost as high as the rated highway MPG. The engine and exhaust notes are addictive! It is quiet in normal driving but comes alive both in performance and aurally when you want it to. The car accommodates my family with ease and can also serve as my toy when I am alone. My only disappointment is that the plastics scratch. Get one youll love it

  • 04 Civic Si - 2004 Honda Civic
    By -

I was going to buy this car back in 2003, but decided to stay a little longer with my 8 year old car and save some money. I just got the 04 model yesterday and although I havent being able to push it (break-in period); it feels solid. Engine is quiet upon acceleration and super quiet when idle. Road noise can be felt at freeway speeds, but it is a "sports" car. Compared to my old car, the handling is very precise and the transmission is second to none. Got the car for $17,100 plus tax and title.

  • Superior Honda Hybrid - - 2004 Honda Civic

I waited for and sought out this car, wanting a hybrid and having driven Hondas for 30 years now. Not enough dealers around here carry them. Many people waiting for them. I have always had hatch backs and loved them for carrying stuff. Dont know whether or not a hatchback could get as good mileage.

  • Test Drive A Civic - Youll Own It - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

I bought my Honda LX(A) Coupe a couple of months ago and I only wish I had gotten a Civic sooner. Ive been an Accord owner, but I initially choose the Civic because it was a gas saver (30/40) and cheaper. I thought I was settling for less, but after a nice test drive, I knew I receiving far better (gas/$) and much more fun to drive - such a nice, sporty car. I love the way it handles, starts effortlessly and quietly, picks up speed in a nanosecond, brakes smoothly & quietly, handles curves/turns on a dime, and I drive forever before it requires gas. Test Drive One, its such fun and I bet You too will become a Civic owner!

  • The Best in its class. - 1996 Honda Civic
    By -

Over the past 6 months I had this car it drives nearly flawless in every way. Of course since it was used I had to do some minor repairs(New battery, realign rear bumper, swap lightbulbs) To this day I am still very pleased with this car.

  • Happy Civic Hybrid owner - 2006 Honda Civic

A defect free car right off the showroom floor. You WILL get the EPA rated mileage in warm weather if the car is driven properly. Cold weather decreases mileage significantly. Our Civic hybrid is fun to drive, and I liked getting 512 miles on 9.39 gallons of 87 octane (our first tank of gas.....on a new, tight engine).
