Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Honda has returned to the head of the pack of compact cars with the new Civic. The car is great. The New Civic was appealing to at every angle other then front. Steering is improved as is engine and STANDARD SAFETY IS UNMATCHED.

  • 2002 Honda Civic Problems - 2002 Honda Civic
    By -

I bought a Honda Civic in late 2002 after reading good reviews in Edmunds.com. I was totally shocked to find out only months later that the "new" car came with serious problems. 1. Unlike my Accord, the plastic in the a/c vent of the Civic "sweats" and results in the rear windshield fogging. 2. The "break shift" produces loud sounds often when one breaks. Apparently these are problems that Honda is aware of and working on. However, a consumer like myself feels shortchanged!

  • Its fun to drive again! - 2005 Honda Civic

I had a 2004 Accord and it was a really nice, plush ride, but the Civic Si has made driving a whole new experience. From the shifter on the dash to the look, inside and out....I get compliments everywhere I go.

  • Great Car - 2005 Honda Civic

I have had this car only 3 weeks and have had to fill it up once. I am getting a round about average of 42 mpg with city and highway driving. Love this car and I would buy it again.

  • Sporty First Car - 2017 Honda Civic

Bought the 2017 Honda Civic as the first car for my daughter turning 16. She had max budget of 20K, but we had a little wiggle room. This car has great features in that price range and drives great. She drove the civic and accord and preferred the civic. Great gas milage and she preferred the handling of the civic. She will be paying for her own gas, so the MPG was great. The car has sporty and pretty styling and next to my 07 MB C230, is about the the same size! She is super proud of it!

  • False Advertising - 2004 Honda Civic

Where is the performance?! This is not the car I thought I was buying. Why did Europe get the Type R model? For all you people thinking that you got a great car go online and see the car Europe got. You will think twice about buying the Si. At highway speeds the transmission whines like a spoiled child. I keep reaching for another gear that does not exist. The ride is very rough. This is not a comfortable car for driving any kind of distance. Lousy fuel economy compared to the standard civic. The silver coating on the center console is cheap and easily scratches.

It is one of the best cars that I have ever owned.

  • Not worth the money, but great idea - 2003 Honda Civic
    By -

I bought this car thinking I could save a bit of money with its great fuel economy. However, I found out later that every 10,000 miles it needs a $100.00 mainenance fee with an expensive oil change in between. Gone are my hypothetical savings. Not worth what I expected to get out of it.

!996 4 door ex model with 130000 miles and absolutley zero problems. Never have had a problem with my civic. And 38mpg at about 80mph plus what more can you ask for. Have owned Ford, Chevy, Nissan, Geo and the Honda is the absolute best car I have had.

  • I love my Civic - 2001 Honda Civic
    By -

When I was going to buy a new car I asked all of my friends what I should buy most people said if you want a reliable car that will last buy a Honda. I couldnt have gotten better advice. At first I had my heart set on the 2001 Saturn SC2 but after driving the Saturn and then driving the Civic I was sold, the Civic ride was much more smoother than the Saturn and the price was much more reasonable, I couldnt see paying more for a bumpier ride so of course I bought the Civic. I love my 2001 Honda Civic Ex Coupe. I havent had any problems except for the tire getting a hole it it from a nail. (opps my bad)!
