Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

This is my 20 something Honda since 1977. I have had Hondas that I have driven 200,000 miles and no Honda has ever given me a major mechanical issue. If you follow the factory recommended service they will run a very long time. I have enjoyed every Honda that I have owned. This car is stylish and fun to drive. Im 5" 11" and weigh about 220 lbs. Im not a small guy and the car is extremely comfortable. I like the design of the instrument cluster. I dont have to lower my eyes from the road to know my speed. The EX comes with a whole lot of accessories and gadgets that you would expect on a $30,000 or more car.

Yes, its fun to drive and the gas mileage is wonderful, BUT Ive had to replace the radio twice and now my air conditioning in not working. Shouldnt happen to a car thats just one year old! I wont buy another Honda.

This is my first Honda after having 4 Corollas and although the ride in the Corolla is a bit smoother, they all rusted out! I dont see as many rusted Hondas. I live in the North East where the winters are harsh and lots of road salt is used. When I bought this car it was between this and a 2000 Eclipse. The Eclipse is a very sporty car and it was almost the same price as the Honda but it was not certified and the warranty I got with the Honda is exceptional. I have 2 years bumper to bumper and the 7 year powertrain warranty. Cant beat it. I wanted sporty but opted for practicality. Im old.

My choice came down to this car or the 2003 Toyota Corolla. Decision became easy because there are few Corollas on dealers lots. On the other hand, my local Honda dealer had the models and colors I wanted. They made me an offer I couldnt refuse. Overall, I am satisfied.

  • A car built for $2.00/gallon gas! - 1993 Honda Civic

I have documented with my last 2 fill- ups average mpg of 40 miles per gallon. Awesome. She aint that pretty but she is fuel efficient. And peppy with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Ive had this car now for 1 month and 1300 miles, and Im loving it. You wont find a better combination of acceleration, handling, looks, reliability, and practicality at the 20k price point. I always look forward to driving it. For a 2.0 L 4cyl with only a rated 139 lb-ft of torque, the pull even from low rpm in any of the first 4 gears is surprisingly strong. Wind it out to 7-8k rpm and you feel like your driving a F1 race car! This car is every bit as quick and much more nimble than the V6 02 Maxima it replaced. Ive experienced 28-29 mpg thus far, which I feel is plenty decent given the performance this car delivers. Id recommend it to anyone!

this is the best car i have ever owned! to bad some chick crashed into me and it got totaled! i loved everything about the car. the only thing it lacked was its 1.6 liter vtec engine putting out only 125 horses, put with a few mods it does fairly well. great mileage, great looks, nice and comfortable! i had the car from day one and i would drive it as hard as possible and it never had a problem.

This is my 2nd HCH, the first was an 04. This gets about 5mpg better mileage than the 04 (I am getting 53 mpg). I have no complaints. It is super.

  • New car, love it - 2007 Honda Civic

I drove a SUV and loved that. The mileage was crazy and cost eating me up. I find this car very roomy for a small car and fast. The 4 banger, is not what it used to be.
