Overview & Reviews
In typical Honda fashion, the Civic receives a number of minor changes this year in order to keep it fresh. For the coupe and sedan, there's new exterior styling, including restyling for the front and rear bumpers, hood, headlights and grille. Inside, the audio speakers have been upgraded, extra sound deadening material has been added and floor mats are now standard in the LX and EX. The LX trim has slightly bigger wheels this year (15 inches) and standard keyless entry. A new value package contains air conditioning, a CD player and a new center console. For the Si hatchback, there are new headlight and taillight designs, larger 16-inch wheels and flashier interior trim. Like the regular sedan, the Civic Hybrid has updated styling, standard floor mats and improved speakers. It also has a new interior console with an armrest, adjustable rear headrests and a manual driver-seat height adjuster. Finally, all 2004 Honda Civic sedans and coupes have a new seatbelt reminder system.
- Fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engines, roomy interior, reputation for durability and quality, impressive crash test scores.
- Top-of-the-line models are pricey, antilock brakes not available on DX or LX.

LovinOur03CIVICCOUPE... - 2004 Honda Civic
By Derric@Teresa - July 21 - 10:00 amAn excellent car,fun to drive lots of bang for the buck.We purchased our Civic on 2/17/04 as an 2003 model. Were leaving for Montreal,Canada in july and Iam looking forward to long drive to and from our destination. Great job Honda! We sold our 99 ford escort in place for our Civic what a thoughtful idea my wife loves a Honda over a ford any day of the week and I do agree 100%

Couldnt think of a better first car. - 2004 Honda Civic
By Bruce Wayne - July 15 - 10:00 amDisplay stopped working at 2000 miles; dealer had to get a new chip which reset my odometer. Besides that I have not encountered any mechanical or electrical problems. People working at the dealer were sleazy, didnt listen to me and werent in a rush to help. Gas needle has a mind of its own. Panels and doors fit together very well and obvious care taken toward fit and finish but doors still dont close with a confident thump. For the cars size the trunks massive. Drivers seat uncomfortable but not unbearable to be in for long trips. Back seat is nice and fairly roomy. Yawn inspiring acceleration. Ride is smooth, cabin noise minimal on highways.

Honda Sustains and 86s - 2004 Honda Civic
By Karl and Elise - June 13 - 7:20 amIn a years time and lots of highway travel, we have enjoyed our experience. However, a few things that buyers should know. One is the brake pads. We had to replace them at the 20k mile mark and recently I over heard an Accord owner discussing with a service manager their replacement also at 20k miles. Ive owned numerous makes and models. Ford brake pads lasted longer than this. And I drove that car harder and under more harsh conditions. The other complaint is road noise and handling. Its highway road noise shouldnt be over looked as well as its ability to handle like it should. Freeway ramps (clover-leaf style) you will have to slow down as others dont.

great car - 2004 Honda Civic
By lococrzy - June 8 - 10:20 ami bought a civic hybrid a couple months ago. the car is great and incredibly comfortable for a compact. although the car is in great need of more power it is great. i would say the only flaw of this car is the 95hp it has under the hood. I hope to purchase an accord hybrid soon.

Awesome Car - 2004 Honda Civic
By ChiHondaGuy - June 8 - 10:00 amLove the Car. I bought it in decmber and have never been more happy with a car in my life. It is very quiet and very fuel efficent. Just be careful if you tend to be a lead foot the advantages of the hybrid dissapiear quick! Remember that the car is ususaly more efficent if you use the cruise as much as possable.

Good so far - 2004 Honda Civic
By Cow Eyes - June 2 - 10:00 amJust purchased my 3rd Civic. All seems well except for needing rear cup holders. It is an option for the DX and EX only-WHY? I understand airconditioning is a problem when it is really hot. I hope not for me-gets really hot in the south!
