Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Great Car - 2006 Honda Civic 2dr coupe A - 2006 Honda Civic

I love driving this comfortable car. Gas mileage is great. Takes corners like a sports car. Love the rack and pinion steering. Interior design/dashboard is innovative. Sleek sporty look gets a lot of compliments.

  • 163k and still going - 1994 Honda Civic

i bought her used w/135K on her, and even tho the body is rough, the engine is fantastic. i change the oil, and am taking her in this month for the timing belt/w.pump r&r. i doubt its ever been done, and is recc.every 70K or so. i use this car to commute avg.of 150 miles/day, and it never fails me. handles well in winter conditions due to low/wide build. i LOVE the 5spd manual trans..is so fun, and good mpg too. I love this car so much, im putting about $1000 into her to get her looking nice and getting the engine to 100% performance. most would say it isnt worth it, but i bet its only used 1/2 its life. hoping to get 300K+ before she calls it quits.

  • Nice car for budget concerning people - 2005 Honda Civic

The most impression to me is the gas milage which runs average around 38.Before i decided to buy this car,my wife and I did some research about civic and corolla.By comparing corner to corner I chose the civic. Its more style and fun to drive. Not like corolla,i never felt bumpy.

  • 2015 Civic - 2015 Honda Civic

Its a great car. Occasionally theres a slight hesitation upon accelerating from being stationary, but otherwise fine. Great design, reliability (so far), performance, gas mileage, electronics, entertainment system, handling on corners, etc.

  • Honda knows econo-comfort - 2007 Honda Civic

As for blind spots: the B-pillar is thick, but the rear passenger windows allow for more than ample eye sight (these are things you notice on a test drive, not 2 months later!). As for the quality ext./int. yes its cheaper, but for the price the quality is more than sufficient, and the design is quite nice. Go look at Chevy and tell me you dont love Honda interiors. Performance wise, this is sufficient, but definitely not sporty. The engine has 140 hp@6300, and 128 lb-ft@4300. So really, Ive no complaints about this car, and have been quite happy with its MPG. I recommend it to any one needing an economical car that is almost guaranteed to last 300,000+ miles if you care for it.

  • 120 mile a day commute - 2005 Honda Civic
    By -

I drive about 120 miles a day for my commute and love every minute of getting 50+ mpg. I replaced the standard stereo with one that has a XM Radio receiver and that makes the drive bearable. Road noise is the pretty high unless I drive outside the ruts made by those who insist on having studded tires on their cars.

  • DO NOT BUY - 2016 Honda Civic
    By -

I own a brand new 2016 Civic Touring Sedan: problems with its navigation system started the very next day. It either cannot find the satellites or it shows your location completely wrong, on another street or in a forest or in a lake! Took it back to he selling dealership twice: first time for a week to have the navigation head replaced - no improvement. Second time for another week to have the antenna replaced. If that doesnt help either Ill take it back again, and again: thank God for the existing Lemon Laws.

  • Amazing performance, bad body! - 2004 Honda Civic
    By -

I love this car, it really performs well, and I believe the engine has a lot of life in it. That is if the body holds up. I was in a slight fender bender at about 5 MPH and the entire back end cracked. Other than the body though, this car is amazing, and is a definite buy.

  • Great small car, just a few small gripes - 1997 Honda Civic
    By -

Great car, should have gotten the fivespeed though. (test drove both) Performance is a little sluggish when the car is full. But its very quick when im by myself. A supercharged/turboed version would fix that wouldnt it? ;)
