  • Didnt think Id be sold on a hybrid... - 2005 Honda Civic

At first I was pretty skeptical, with a lot of claims (gas mileage, no difference between "regular" cars and hybrids) being touted in advertisements, articles, etc. I test drove the CVT and manual versions of the Civic, as well as the Prius before deciding on the manual Civic Hybrid. I thought the Prius looked and drove a little too far away from what I was used to in a "normal" car. (all electric start start from a stop, etc.) The Civic has been great, performance isnt that bad for not having a lot of horses under the hood. I chose the manual over the CVT because again, it just felt better overall. Fuel economy is pretty much as stated, I get 47 MPG with mixed driving.

  • INDY-My New HIGH MPG Hybrid - 2005 Honda Civic

I purchased INDY because I wanted a car that was an environmentally conscious statement. This car is fantastic: sporty, high tech, great MPG, stylish, and fun to drive. I got the CVT model because my wife drives it and wasnt thrilled about a stick. Ive upgraded everything but the wheels. Changed the Radio to allow XM and IPOD. Nicely designed car, very conforable. Wish the seats had a little bit better lumbar support. Only option not available which I wish was possible was a sunroof. Apparently some wiring goes through the roof or so I was told so that a sunroof wasnt possible. They have it on the new Accord. I regularly get 38- 43 mpg though I dont drive for max mpg.

I have not had any major problems and I am overall satisfied with my purchase. The care is great on gas and overall is comfortable. Nice trunk tray and spoiler.

  • Great car - saves money and air. - 2005 Honda Civic

I wanted a hybrid that looked like a car, and the Honda Civic is that car. Most people who have ridden in the car cannot believe that it is a hybrid. The performance has been great, and the mileage even better.

  • Hybrid the Best Buy - 2005 Honda Civic

An excellent drive. Slightly overated mileage estimates but not enough to be concerned about. Some inattention to excessive glue traces on front and rear glass which is not expected from Honda. Definitely a worthwhile buy with gas prices as they are and the need to go to "Green" vehicles to reduce pollution. I traded an SUV so its size took a little getting used to but worth it. A good solid ride.

  • Dont believe the hype - 2005 Honda Civic

I hate this car. I cannot tell you how much I extremely dislike this car. Metal is way too thin - I have 3 major dents from damage in parking lots. When you let the windows down to clear off dew in the morning, the rubber gasket doesnt make contact with the window so it does not clear off the dew. Makes me wonder if rain is running straight down into the door. I have a vibration that started at about 5000 miles and I have had to have it fixed 3 times. They tell me that the AC cable that is running in the dash just behind the speedometer keeps coming loose and vibrating against the firewall. R rear window has a whistle (air leak) very annoying. of course thats a gasket problem - not covered.

  • It saved my life - 2005 Honda Civic

I had this car only two months and was extremely happy with it. A freak accident threw me into a concrete retaining wall at 60 mph, with impact on the front right half of the car. The entire front of the car was smashed flat and the engine block split. I walked away in tact with only two scratches, a chest bruise from the seatbelt, and a burn on my hand from the airbag. I loved the car before...it handles like a dream and is very comfortable to drive. But Im going straight out to buy another, because I know first hand how well made they are! I wouldnt be here otherwise.

  • Another Point of View - 2005 Honda Civic

WE bought a 2004 new in April. It had 3 miles on the odometer when we took it for a test drive. Unfortunately we did not take it on the interstate. 18 wheelers blow it around. Side winds blow it around. In the snow the rear end tends to come around too easily. If you live in the Great White North youll notice all four doors let in a draft from the bottom as well as from the interior handles. Wind noise seems excessive. Ditto engine noise which actually buzzes the occupants. Handling was not impressive and the ride was too choppy. You will feel EVERY road irregularity. Traded a 95 Dodge Neon 5M Highline that I bought new to buy this car. That Neon did a better job of ALL the above!

I really enjoy the comfortable ride, and sporty appearance added with the rear spoiler. And last but not least, the gas mileage city & Highway are wonderful.

  • Get what you pay for. - 2005 Honda Civic

This is my 3rd Honda. I have had many makes in between. This car looks great, has enough guts to get it on the highway and city merging, and it gets great mileage. We recently bought a Kia van, fully loaded, thought we would save some money compared to other companies vans. So far 2 recalls and the worst service department you can imagine. Pay a little more, get better service, and alot better resale value in the end.
