  • Overall, a great daily driver - 2015 Honda Civic
    By -

Recently bought a 2015 Civic LX sedan with the 5 speed manual transmission, which I think is the best combination for a daily commuter car. To date, my gas mileage has averaged 37mpg doing about a 40 / 60 mix of city and highway driving. The manual transmission also makes the best of the 1.8R engines meager power band. When searching for a new car, I also looked at the Mazda3, Ford Focus, Toyota Corolla, and the Kia Forte. I felt the Civic had the best balance of features of all of them, the dealer giving me a competitive price of $16,250 cinched the deal. I did like the Mazda and the Fords more fun to drive characteristics, but the Honda felt like a better built car.

  • I really really like this car - 2015 Honda Civic

I bought this car because it looks fantastic and is fun to drive. I know its not as fast and/or doesnt handle as well as the WRX/GTI/Focus St etc etc, but that most certainly does not disqualify it from being a great value. I honestly think it looks better than the other cars mentioned, and a big reason is the re-styled front. The new 18" wheels also look great, Im a huge fan. The interior is very nice as well, the touch screen radio works great, and the side view and rear view cameras are a huge help when driving. As far as performance, yes it could use a bump. Yes it looks faster than it is. But I dont even drive this car to its limits, so I am not sure why I need more.

  • Spaceship Civic... - 2015 Honda Civic

So, when reviewing a vehicle, I believe you need to put it in the context of the car before it. Well, here it is kids, I am one of the very, very, very few that went from an S197 Mustang GT to a Civic. Yes, you read that right...a Mustang GT. Ive owned Hondas in the past, but not for a while. This car is an absolute thrill to drive, why? Its slow, it gets 38MPG on the highway, It has all the cams, moonroof, its comfy, very smooth ride and the tech is outstanding. Basically, this makes the Stang seem Flintstone-ish. Sure the Stang is fast as hell, but the Civic is way more advanced. Wish I could keep them both, but my old back is not going to miss that Mustang clutch.

  • So Happy! - 2015 Honda Civic
    By -

My previous car, a Nissan Altima, was a disappointment and had over a 100,000 miles that worried me when I first brought it back in 2010. Over the years, I had to constantly do repairs on it, such as power steering replacement new alternator belt new power plug the bottom replaced (the plastic cover) and headlights replaced. I was so scared that I would have to spend more than I decided to look into a new car. Ive been waffling between the Toyota Corolla and this. I heard that the Corollas have been about less than average because of transmission and reliability, so I test drove the Civic and been a happy customer ever since! I am so happy with this car, you have no idea! You dont!

  • my time not having to buy a used car - 2015 Honda Civic
    By -

This is the first time i have bought a new car in my 25 years of driving and i like it a lot. The car has a solid feel and i look forward to the reliability and low cost maintenance i have experienced with previous Hondas. I chose the civic coupe ex auto for my 30 mile work commute, so far the best combined fuel mileage is 33mgp. I am sure this will get better as traffic eases up during the summer here in az.

  • Foul trash/garbage odor in cabin - 2015 Honda Civic
    By -

I purchased a new 2015 Honda Civic in Dec 2014. Brought it home + parked it in the garage + the next day it had a foul trash/garbage smell in the cabin. My dealership recommended leaving the windows open to air it out. Its a new car - why should I have to air it out? Took it into the dealership, where they left my car + another new civic in the garage overnight. They agreed that BOTH cars had an odor. They detailed the car to cover the smell, but it didnt help. I brought it back so the Honda representative could take a look -he said it was fine. I called Honda customer service-their stand was nothing needed to be replaced, so it basically wasnt their problem. Very disappointed with Honda.

  • Excellent commuter car - 2015 Honda Civic
    By -

I needed a commuter car and did lots of internet research, and it came down to the Mazda3 or this Honda, but the Toyota corolla would have been a fine choice as well. The mazda3 had better mileage and was a sportier driver, but the seats were hard and uncomfortable for me putting my thick wallet in my hip pocket. The Honda seats are way more comfortable and the ride is a tad softer. It is a well made car with great fit and finish, moreso than I would expect (last econobox I bought was 15 years ago).

    Very nice

  • Very Reliable but not incredible - 2015 Honda Civic

This car was good. It was comfortable but not luxury. Some trim parts seemed cheap and exterior was light weight. I would possibly buy again but consider others.

  • EPA mpg VERY misleading - 2015 Honda Civic
    By -

I own a 2004 Honda Civic EX which gets very very good mileage, STILL. Just recently purchased (09/2015) the 2015 model, and it is much worse in terms of gas mileage. I loved Honda up until this. I have no bad words for Honda, but this just sucks in terms of quality. I am averaging 24-26 mpg in the city, and that is with grandma type driving. I purposely have been driving that way, to test the mileage accurately. Update (08/2016): We noticed the navigation system is just awful, after multiple attempts at use. The gps does not work properly in relation to the navigation, because it will give you locations of items in states thousands of miles away. If you dont search under the proper category, you will not find your desired item. Basically, you need to know the proper category to search for each destination. Also, the sirius xm radio has too many dead areas within a large metropolis. It could also be a problem with the cars system or antennae. Overall, the ENTIRE computer system that handles the navigation and entertainment is SLOW SLOW SLOW. As for mileage, it seems to have gotten a little better. However, its still not on par with the ratings on the sticker.
