Plain and simple, this automobile is a joy to own. It performs suprisingly well on the road given the fuel economy, and gives a superb comfortable ride, inside and out. Fit and finish is excellent, with few annoying return trips to the dealership ever required. All neccessary controls are within easy reach over the driver for ease of use.

This is my first car and its still alive and running like a champ although its no ordinary Honda, i use to complain everyone has one but i now see why they are super reliable and not only that the customizations you can do are endless. I recently sold my old motor with 180k+ miles and still got a lot for it, i decided to replace the old one for added performance along i bought a turbo kit with all the goodies, custom paint job, rims and tires, hid lights/chrome headlights and tail lights, exhaust, short shifter, bodykit, coil overs, carbon fiber hood, and much more its show ready!

  • Gotta Love Them Civics - 1998 Honda Civic

I love my 1998 Honda Civic, so far it has been a really good car. It is a big difference from my last car which was a 1995 Ford Contour with about 10 recalls on it. The only little problem with my car which has the automatic transmission, it shifts really hard, but maybe thats like Honda. Other than that I love it, it has great build quality and a lot of safety features. I love the valet key idea and autolock which was not on any Ford, the crash tests are much better, sunroof is great, and the keyless entry is another plus (why doesnt it have a trunk opener button). Oh well, Im very satisfied with this car and would recommend it to anyone.

  • Short on dough? Civics the way to go. - 1998 Honda Civic

If it werent for that darn school bus slamming into me, Id still be driving my Civic today. What it lacks in low- end torque, it makes up for once the peppy VTEC kicks in. This car is affordable, reliable, & fun to drive. If youre on a budget, never fear. Look no further than the Civic EX . . . you wont regret it!

  • Fun, Reliable, and Efficient - 1998 Honda Civic

Wonderful car! I got my civic as a hand-me-down. It was my first car and will be my only car for some time. Fuel economy is superb for such a sporty compact. The hatchback is a great model due to its transportation qualities. The D17Y engine isnt exactly the best in its class, but Honda did put enough work into making it rev extremely high. Put your foot to the floor on a long stretch of road and the automatic transmission down shifts and launches you forward. The air conditioning isnt the best, however, if it is left on long enough at high power it WILL cool the entire car down. My only complaint is that if you drive the car at the top end, fuel economy suffers quite a bit.

  • will miss my honda - 1998 Honda Civic

I got my honda new in 8/98.I was very happy when I got it and still very happy now. its unbleivably reliable. its fun to drive if you cant afford a stonger car, I felt the need for more power on several occasions but hay I cant get a porche. I changed the factory speakers with a polk ones and added a CD changer to enjoy my CDs. now since we just had a baby, a coupe is not convenient at all, Im trying to buy an old SUV but everytime I test drive one I feel how good is my honda and I back off. the moral of the story is " buy it if you cant afford a stronger car and if you know you will not have a baby in the next 5 years "

  • Great Car for the Money - 1998 Honda Civic

After 177,000 miles, The only repairs have been a new catalytic converter ($550) and an A/C compressor ($1300). This is a great car for a do-it-yourself mechanic. I now do 99% of the maintenance myself and I expect to keep this car until it reaches 300,000 miles. I bought it new in Jan. 1999. I havent even had to replace a head light or signal light bulb. I get 36.5 MPG at highway speeds, even after 9 years of use. Around town I get 29 MPG. I wish that was higher.

I love my cCvic, it was the best vehicle purchase I have made. I drive it on a 97 mile round trip daily and have not had any problems with it in five years. I would highly recommend a 98 Honda Civic EX!

  • Honda Civic (Exceptional vehical) - 1998 Honda Civic

Ive bought a Honda Civic Ex. 2dr coupe, manual trans. A little over two years ago. Even though the car was not in my posession for very long I am very pleased with its preformance as well as its reliablitly. The Civic is a common car which means upgrades/replacements and aftermarket tuning parts can be found any where and fairly cheap. It has an elegant design Both inside and out. However the performance of the viehical is fair. It sometimes can feel very slugish up large hills or with a full car load of people. Steering and handling however is exceptionaly better than other vehicals in made in 98. Overall Its a sporty fuel effecient car that is very fun to drive. Perfect for a first car!
