In typical Honda fashion, the Civic receives a number of minor changes this year in order to keep it fresh. For the coupe and sedan, there's new exterior styling, including restyling for the front and rear bumpers, hood, headlights and grille. Inside, the audio speakers have been upgraded, extra sound deadening material has been added and floor mats are now standard in the LX and EX. The LX trim has slightly bigger wheels this year (15 inches) and standard keyless entry. A new value package contains air conditioning, a CD player and a new center console. For the Si hatchback, there are new headlight and taillight designs, larger 16-inch wheels and flashier interior trim. Like the regular sedan, the Civic Hybrid has updated styling, standard floor mats and improved speakers. It also has a new interior console with an armrest, adjustable rear headrests and a manual driver-seat height adjuster. Finally, all 2004 Honda Civic sedans and coupes have a new seatbelt reminder system.

Not as good as they say!!! - 2004 Honda Civic
By bliv - March 29 - 10:00 amCar has nice behaviour in hard breaking but i find it noisy at Hway speeds. I felt confortable but did not felt much feedback from road when cornering.

Good Work or Run Around Town Car - 2004 Honda Civic
By John - March 18 - 10:30 pmI bought this to drive to and from work because of the dependability and resale. This is my first Honda and I bought it with just 23K. It replaced my Ford Escort. Gas mileage is about 1 or 2 MPG better than 2002 Escort. It sits better and has better acceleration than the Escort. Honda gets about 32-36 MPG to and from work which is about 8 miles in town, 34 miles on freeway. I do not just drive it in town. It gets twice as good of MPG as my Mountaineer!

Just Got It... - 2004 Honda Civic
By ImNtoxicated - January 23 - 10:00 amAll in all, its a car. Nothing more and nothin less. I had a Monte Carlo SS and totalled it. So a Civic was kind of spare of the moment. It really wasnt what I wanted. No one can complain on the gas milage of the car (BTW I just picked it up this morning). I did notice that once I break it in, I will be able to haul butt in this car, it sits at 3,000 RPM and its doing 75 MPH! Redlines about 6600 RPM. On the plus side you can drive a Honda in the ground for years and it will still run great. Two people I know own Hondas with over 300,000 miles and they still run great.

Better MPG - 2004 Honda Civic
By TexasHybrid - October 29 - 10:00 amPurchased in April 04. Am only getting 36 mpg and have been running AC on Econ. I keep hearing a whizzing sound when I brake. The window on the front passenger side rattles during some turns. The ABS engages on the streets of Dallas (numerous potholes). Stereo weak.

Total Reliability - 2004 Honda Civic
By JB - September 27 - 9:57 pmA pleasure to drive. The definition of dependablity. Fantastic gas mileage. Remember people choose to buy cars w/ poor mileage & pay out the nose. Not me. Its a quick, cute car. I drive a flawless manual. I have bought one set of new tires and change the oil regularly. No maintenance problems to speak of despite hard driving and a lot of travel.

New car experience - 2004 Honda Civic
By k brown - September 22 - 10:00 amI bought this car after driving a Buick Regal for 6 years. I can say without reservation, this car is a pleasure to drive. It feels like Im part of the car. It is responsive in traffic and the milage is terrific. I have about 1000 miles on the car. I took it from the dealer and wenton a trip of 250 miles. Half was highway and half city miles. I averaged 43 mpg. I look for it increase. i would recommend this car to anyone who wants a "fun" car to drive.

By max the knife - September 22 - 10:00 amI love driving my new Si. It handles beautifully, performs great in gears 1-3, and has very comfortable, firm, well-designed seats. Three complaints: lousy visibility in back (cute small rear side windows a problem), less-than-wonderful turning circle, and it is a mite underpowered.

By Hoosier - September 22 - 10:00 amCute LITTLE car. Nice exterior and dash layout. Handles great for small car. Better ride than expected. Good mileage but still waiting for EPA listed mileage. The new accord hybrid should be better with more room. CVT transmission takes getting used to.

By Phil Brown - August 13 - 2:06 pmWe havent achieved the mileage advertised, however, it is satisfactory. 43mpg on a trip is the best weve gotten, and thats good considering your foot is in it on the interstate system. Im a big man, so I could use some more room. Once in position, Im all right. Comfortable ride considering the size. You must drive knowing your capability when merging at high speeds. This isnt a race car. The transmission is very smooth. The radio is from hunger. Its the poorest thing about the car. Using the cruise control gives best economy on the highway. Would get another one without concern, but would barter on the price more seriously. May save $1K, but dont expect to save more.

my 2004 - 2004 Honda Civic
By gpband - August 10 - 2:00 amThe 2004 Honda Civic is suppose to be a really great buy but I have had so many problems with mine. The front strut went out on my car, the rear defroster and my cv boots are now popping. This is all within a four month period and Honda sites everything as my fault eventhough it sits all the time. I am afraid that is will just fall apart on me. The car does have decent pickup but it doesnt have a traction control system which it really needs. I think they should put an ESP program on it similar to VWs and Toyotas have. My 14 year saab is more realible than this new civic.
