Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Just what I was looking for - 2008 Honda Civic

This is a great highway cruiser - if you travel long distances, this is a great way to get there cheaply. 43 mpg on the 1st fill-up, I expect more when it breaks in completely. Rented a Prius (got 44 mpg with it) and shopped one as well - the Civic stickers for less, Honda is dealing on the sticker price, and you still get $1050 in cash back from the Feds - whats not to like? The Prius is a nice car, this is less expensive and equally as nice. I like the "normal" Civic look as opposed to the unique design of the Prius. The Prius has a bit more room inside, and I like the fold down back seats and rear space. The Honda can carry 850 lbs (pass + cargo) the Prius 800 lbs.

  • Fun to Drive! - 2005 Honda Civic

The buying experience was a pleasure. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, no pressure. The gas mileage of 35mpg is a relief for someone who travels a lot every day. Interior and exterior design is very nice, and overall feels and looks much more expensive than it is. My only complaint is the a/c, which is not very cool on a sunny day.

  • Remember, its an economy car - 2007 Honda Civic

The cost of gas prompted my conversion from a 2006 GMC Yukon XL to the 2007 Honda Civic EX. I did not need a sports car. The Honda Civic, with its economical engine, reputation for durability and longevity as well as low price prompted my purchase. For several thousands of dollars more I could have chosen a car with better suspension, ride comfort and sound. But I get terrific gas mileage, a sporty ride (i.e. I feel the bumps on the road) and a sound system that plays the music I want. Id probably be more attractive to women with a small BMW, but my daughters think the car is great so I suspect Im as attractive to women as Ill ever be. My wife likes the size of the car, too.

  • This is a great car. - 2000 Honda Civic

I bought my 2000 Civic as a Certified Used Honda and Im thrilled with it. I love the fact that the powertrain is covered until 2006. That just feels great, even though Im pretty sure I wont be needing it to be.

  • update - 2002 Honda Civic
    By -

Well, I posted a review back in May of 2002. To update, the car STILL has not had any problems. Yes, the road noise is still there, and the rattles and creaks are there. But reliabilty and gas milleage has been very good. On all highway, I have gotten anywhere from 39- 41MPG. But back in the city, its been hovering around 33MPG. Over this time, I have gone on numerous trips, and drive everywhere and I still enjoy driving it!

  • Third Civic - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

This is my 3rd civic and I love it. I have also owned 2 Accords and must say I miss the double-wishbone front suspension. My 2 Accords & 93 Civic coupe had it, and I loved it because it lasts longer than the McPherson strut, but the McPherson struts will have to do till I see the next Accord. The Nav/Stereo is THE BEST. The PC Card reader is fantastic!! I have 2 2GB cards and they work great! Windshield picks up EVERYTHING and the wipers need improvement. BEWARE - Most car wash tracks will hit your suspension VERY HARD when you enter them.

  • Civic Duty - 2008 Honda Civic

Leather and Navigation System are great additions. Comfort and ride are smooth and much quieter that the 2001 Honda Civic EX. Extremely pleased with the mileage out of the gate, 29 combined city/highway, 38 highway. Would rate straight 10s across the board but that would be unfair given the car been in the garage less than 30 days. Fun to drive, spouse loves it to. Good balance of features and costs.

  • Will Never Go Back - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

Ive owned my 2008 Honda Civic for a year now and I will never go back to any other brand of car. It looks great, its comfortable, its reliable, its cost efficient and very fun to drive (especially if youre in a hurry...but please drive safely)!

  • Honda Civic EX (2001) Review - 2001 Honda Civic
    By -

An all-round good car, fun to drive with good mileage. Could be more compfortable on long trips. Road & wind noise too loud. Scheduled maintenance is expensive & my Service dept has been caught padding bills by doing un-necessary work thats not part of whats called for in manual.

  • Love this car - 2004 Honda Civic

I am really pleased with the purchase of my new car. This is my first new car and I absolutely love it. I like everything about this car, except for entry into the back of the car, besides that i have no complaints
