Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Whitney B. Walker - 2002 Honda Civic
By WhitneyCmachine - March 22 - 10:00 amI got a civic because my previous car was an unrestored 64 ford mustang (that needed a lot of work) and I just wanted a car I didnt have to worry if it was going to overheat or use a tank a day. I go out of town often with my civic and even with 60000 it still gets almost 400 miles to the tank.

it is a good thing... - 2003 Honda Civic
By dapreservedmoose - March 22 - 10:00 amI love my hybrid, its fuel economy hasnt quite lived up to its advertisement, but im not complaining about 42 mpg. I had a friend who had the manual version and got 52 mpg. Not as many hybrid features as the prius, but more performance.

Surprized by the quality - 2004 Honda Civic
By disappointedinFeb - March 22 - 10:00 amI purchased my Honda Civic in February. At first it was great. Then it began shifting from 5th gear into neutral while driving on the highway at 65 mph!! The dealership was able to find nothing wrong with the car.

!st Honda - 2004 Honda Civic
By Barefoot Dreamer - March 22 - 10:00 amHaving owned my Hybrid for 14 days the fuel milage is fantastic. I just fueled up today, 8 gallons in driving 312 miles. I expect the fuel milage to increase over the next few hundred miles.Having driven Cadillacs since 1974, current owner of a 2002 Escalade, Im not use to this kind of fuel economy.

great car - 2002 Honda Civic
By Doc - March 21 - 6:50 pmI have about 4500 miles on this car. I have had, in the past, several VWs (sedans and busses. Saabs (two cycle) BMW 1600, Porsche 1600 Super; Citroen DS 21, NSU Prinz, and others. This car with the VTEC enging is very interesting. It comes on like it has a supercharger. Most impressive when you tramp on the accellerator.

I love my Civic! - 1999 Honda Civic
By Madison - March 21 - 4:43 pmI would recommend this car to anyone. It is easy to maintain with the maintenance schedule that came with the owners manual. My car has over 82,000 miles and it runs as well as it did when I purchased it six years ago. I feel confident that my Civic will take me from point A to point B and inbetween without any problems. Its a great buy and runs well on 95 octane gas. Thats a good thing with these high gas prices.

So very glad I bought this car!!! - 2008 Honda Civic
By JenMc - March 19 - 9:46 pmLuckily my son totaled my 4-month-old Jeep Patriot (23 mpg - Yuck!). I was fortunate to find this hybrid on a local dealer lot and have been very happy thus far! I drive approximately 60 miles per day and this is just exactly the car I need. I have gotten 45.25 mpg and normally around 42 mpg with every tank. The extremely hot weather has drug it down a couple of mpg, but who can even complain with 40 mpg?!? (The onboard MPG gauge is always a couple of mpg less than if calculated manually.) I would DEFINITELY recommend a hybrid if youre a high-mileage driver like me! (Looked at the Prius, but the Civic looks much better and is around $5,000 cheaper!)
