  • Great Car! - 2005 Honda Civic

I purchased my Civic in July and then left on a 15000 mile cross country trip. As a four cylinder car, it doesnt shoot up the mountains but more than makes up for that in its handling ability. On the highway at crusing speeds of 75-89, it was wonderful and with cruise control on, the gas mileage was top notch (regularly 41 mpg). The interior of the car is spacious, given the compact size of the car and the features (radio, AC, etc.) are convenient and easy to reach.

This is my second Honda civic and I am once again satisfied. My career is in automotive engineering and I can say that Honda is the best. This car is everything that I expected it to be. There are no cons about it. Some pros are the excellent interior and exterior fit and finish. The transmission shifts seamlessly, the engine runs perfectly, and the gauges, stereo system, wheels, EVERYTHING is just perfect! The gas milegae is 38.0 on highway just as advertised, and 34 city/highway. One of the most favorable features is the 10000 mile oil change. Im not afraid to wait that long on this car, but there is no way I would wait that long on another vehicle (except maybe Toyota).

  • Most UNRELIABLE car ever owned - 2005 Honda Civic

After owning many Hondas since 1983, buying a 2004 Civic EX was not questioned. It has proved to be nothing but a headache with techncians unable to find the problem. It has a continuing refusal to start probem. Tech says its a quirk that well just have to live with. Been at dealership several times since 6/04. They dont pick it up (theyd too busy) then say they cant find the problem because its been jump started. Two complaints have been filed with Honda North America. Both times promised a response within 2 business days. No response to either complaint. Service techs are useless; customer service is nonexistent. Honda is not the quality car it once was.

  • Civic Hybrid is a Winner !!! - 2005 Honda Civic

I love my Civic Hybrid. I am getting 47 MPG in mostly city driving. I commute about 20 minutes one way, all city streets, and it does great. Had it in Texas over the Holidays and it started without a problem at 15 degrees F, completely ignoring the cold. Good lights, great seats (easy to clean), good low end torque (can squeal the tires at startup). All in all, the Hybrid does everything any other Civic can do, just better (except for hot rodding.)

  • I dont get good mileage - 2005 Honda Civic

Everything about this car has been very good except the gas mileage. I consistently get 36 mpg. I drive on the highway about 45 miles each way to work. Needless to say, mileage is important to me and I dont get anything near the sticker.

This is my third Honda, first Civic ( 2 Accords)- superbly designed vehicle. Runs tight and quick which leads to easy manuverability. Clear view behind and sides of vehicle.

Driving position feels like a coupe. Tight build quality. Great fuel economy and quality meterials used throughout. Far superior to my 98 Jetta. While not a performance car, the performance is evrything I expected from a Honda and more. Very comfortable feeling from the brakes and no jack rabbit acceleration. A truely refined compact. I can see why its "Best in Class".

  • Update at 1,000 miles - 2005 Honda Civic

Went to ocean city, md., 320 Miles round trip & the civic did great. Now for some negatives, they are small # 1 on a groved highway road noise is high (turn up stero or avoid groved surfaces) #2 the sun comes in front and raidates heat on your lap & the black dash gets warm( drive with a.C. On or open windows)# 3 stero display washes out in the sun light( shade the display with your hand to read) got 36.5 Mpg on the trip to o. C. All things consiered this car gets me the mpg i bought it for plus its fun to drive . Had the civic up to 80 on a bypass around salisbury where the speed limil is 65 only had it there briefly passing a truck. The cruise control on the steering wheel is nice

  • Buy One - 2005 Honda Civic

Ive had this auto for about three months and its a great car. I set the odometer when i left the dealer and so far its showing 43.1 for all of the driving that weve done (4500.) The car rides well, has plenty of pep, and is very quiet. The only minus in this equation is road traction in snow and ice. Traction and control was scary until i bought a set of snow tires. I wasnt made aware of the need until i drove it in snow for the first time. I nearly quit driving it. Once the new tires were on it felt like it could climb a wall! No problems since.
