Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Great handling, awesome gas mileage and best styling yet. I previously owned a 1995 civic 4 door and this time around I chose a 2 Door.

Great new exterior/ interior styling. The interior feels big for a compact size car. The 2.0 L engine has enough power for normal use and delivers excellent fuel economy. No problems so far and the overall build quality seems excellent.

  • Appreciation of quality - 2005 Honda Civic

I purchased my Honda Civic Hybrid in March of 2004. Since then I have put 50000 km on this vehicle. I have not had one problem to report. I get about 800 km on a tank of gas , the tank holds about 50 liters. I would like to see better fuel economy for this type of vehicle. I do mostly City driving since I do Courier work. On a daily basis, I put about 300 km on this car a day. All in all no complaints, and I am very pleased with the quality of this vehicle. Keep up the good engineering work. Sincerely Ottmar Egger.

  • Probably the best compact car - 2002 Honda Civic

No problems with this car. Drives well and one of the most spacious interiors in a compact car. It handles well both in the city and on highway. Excelent turning and decent hill climbing. The seats are comportable and there is enough head and feet room both in front and in the back. I like the new design (looks a little bit like the VW passat). The trunk is very large for such a small car. I was able to squeeze in my daughters crib without opening the original box. Lowest cost of ownership.

  • Fun and Useful - 2003 Honda Civic

I am very pleased with my Si so far! This car is fun to drive & actually useful (5 pass. w/ real back seat headroom & cargo-carrying ability). My 92 Civic experience was enough to convince me to go w/ Honda again even w/ stiff competition. I am surprised that Honda didnt put a 6-speed transmission or a higher-geared 5th gear. The engine runs very smoothly, but it bothers me to see the tach pushing 4,000 rpm on the interstate! Rearward visibility is somewhat restricted due to the back seat headrests & blindspots on each side of the back glass.

  • Quick and tight, but needs refinement - 2003 Honda Civic

I bought my 01 Civic EX sedan 20 months ago and it is my daily driver. It took some getting used to, coming from a car with almost 100 more horsepower, but it is a very spirited little car. Its got great road feel and a great suspension. Interior design is sofisticated, but the exterior, specifically the rear view, needs some work. Seats are adequate, but dont plan on taking this car on long trips. The stereo is above average for factory. The Automatic transmission is sloppy, especially going into second.

  • Finishing break-in, but good so far - 2007 Honda Civic
    By -

I bought my new Civic Si last weekend. I got 32.5 mpg for the first half tank driving mostly highway miles to VA from NC (248.9 miles). I have to say the car is nice for the price, and loaded. The only really bad design was the hand brake location, the prem gas is also not so good. Seems to be a good little sporty car. I look forward to reporting later after break in what my avg MPG is with using the shift light, or in some hard driving. Not liking the delay in drive by wire 0.9 sec delay in rpm fall. Tire noise is not bad at all. I have Mich. tires (summer/ all season?).

  • Good commuter - 2001 Honda Civic

Although I rarely get advertised 39/44 city/h-way mileage, it consistently provides more than 30 mpg without noticible lack of power. Going to the hills is another subject though... Handles nice and very nimble. Havent had any mechanical failures yet, but been having problems with warping rotors. Dealer insists that it is my driving, but when it consistently happens in less than 8,000 mile interval on the same wheel, I suspect the otherwise. But there isnt a sure way to prove it... Overall, a great performer for what its worth. So far it only consumes gas, oil, air and break lining.

  • Love my Civic - 2003 Honda Civic

I commute an hour each way to work, and this car is perfect for both the commute or for hopping around town. Extremely comfortable seating, very quiet inside, decent stereo, almost no blind spots. My only complaints so far have been minor (mostly cosmetic) issues -- when its wet outside, a LOT of rain seems to come in, even with the window only cracked. The air conditioner seems to sometimes take a long time to reach full power. It could use a little more horsepower, but thats not a deal-breaker for me. My first impression upon buying was that it seemed like it should cost more than it did.. and that hasnt faded.
