Not built like they used to be - 2007 Honda Civic
By 07 Civic SI Sedan - October 25 - 10:20 amIm a bit disappointed with my 07 SI Sedan. Ive had several problems with it. Tons and tons of interior rattles that can never be fixed, buzzing in the speakers, and now my 2nd gear is grinding like crazy. 2nd and 3rd gear issues are VERY common on these cars, and Im now having trouble engaging 2nd gear at high RPMs, which is where the SI lives. The car is fun to drive, although it doesnt deliver what it should for its price. At almost 5k cheaper, you get the cobalt SS/ion redline with more performance. For a mere 1-2 thousand more, you get the mazdaspeed3/GTI which has a LOT more spunk and refinement to it. I would suggest checking out the Mazdaspeed3/gti before buying the Honda, sadly.

Not as good as a Corolla - 2007 Honda Civic
By Bazza - October 21 - 10:36 pmI bought this car to replace my previous European built Corolla sedan, which had given me 5 years trouble free comfortable ownership. The Honda Civic must be the most uncomfortable car I have ever bought, or driven. Its too low, has extremely hard unforgiving seats, the stupid handbrake which digs into my leg and makes any journey over half an hour very painfull (literally). The "A" pillar is too thick, and interferes with a clear view of pedestrians trying to cross the road in front of me at junctions. The front passenger footwell is too short, forcing the passenger has to push the seat right back to get comfortable, consequently there is no room for anybody to sit behind!

WOW! - 2007 Honda Civic
By lynn I - October 16 - 5:46 amJust purchased my new Civic hybrid. What a pleasure to drive! It has been years since I have owned a car that was so much fun to drive and I spent quite a bit more for it. This car is a Hybrid when you need it (around town) but a sport car when you need to corner or pass with speed. The interior design is just plain fun It is also great to be doing something good for the environment and my pocketbook. Overall after the tax credit, this car is as good a buy as any other Honda. What a treat! Dont know what there is to shy away from. I am more that pleased to have decided to make a statement and go green!

Love This Car - 2007 Honda Civic
By lynn - October 3 - 7:13 pmI have had my Civic for two months now and LOVE it! I drive about 360 per week and average 36 mpg. This is a huge improvement from my 1999 Tahoe, lol. There is a blind spot in the rear of the car, and the XM ready is a joke. My husband researched how to install it himself and the pictures looked like Civic brain surgery. I must say the fuel mileage more than makes up for any complaints. Fuel in my area has risen to 3.59 a gallon. I love to look and see what the giant SUV next to me is paying for a tank of gas. I always laugh and think glad that isnt me anymore! Also, I am a mother of two and my daughter fit very comfortably in the back seat. All and all this is a wonderful car.

Buy a Toyota next time - 2007 Honda Civic
By ken808 - October 3 - 5:26 pmThis is the worst car I have ever owned. The fuel mileage has been terrible, barely 24-25 mpg overall. The transmission performs poorly in first gear, providing a jerk whenever the accelerator is touched or released. Customer service from the dealer and Honda is non-existent. They refuse to answer my letters in writing - I guess they dont want any evidence! The digital speedometer is a pain.

TRADED IN BENZ FOR CIVIC HYBRID - 2007 Honda Civic
By Dennis Ang - October 1 - 7:23 pmI just bought a 2007 MB C230 first week of May 07, after 2 weeks, traded in the car for a Civic Hybrid with navi system. Had to learn a whole new driving method, enabling me to average 45-55mpg highway and city mixed driving. The interior feels well made and thought out. The lay out of the control panel is user friendly. I test drove the Prius and compared it with the Civic hybrid; the Civic has more accessible lay out. The Prius felt like an office desk on wheels. Was able to upgrade the interior with leather... the shiny Silver leather made the interior 200% more attractive!!! The handling of this car was better than my recent MB C230. Audio is great, with aux input for mp3 players.

Great Small Car - 2007 Honda Civic
By Dave - September 25 - 8:03 amI owned this car for a little over 2 months and put 7800 miles on it. I had no problems whatsoever and I averaged 38.6 mpg while I owned the car. I drive mostly highway (97 miles round trip to and from work), and found this car to be very comforatble. The manual transmission is the smoothest you will find at this price point. It feels like it should be in a car that costs at least $30,000.

New Owner - 2007 Honda Civic
By Bill Tyner - August 30 - 6:53 pmMy daily driver accumulated a quarter million miles (a 95 Jeep Cherokee Sport) and I needed another vehicle for 3-4 years to commute with great mileage. Though I only have now driven the Civic 1800 miles, the things that are most impressive are: 40 mpg @ 65 mph hwy mileage is not only the EPA estimate but right on the money. Handling is better than expected. Comfort was good on my recent 8 hour freeway drive. Standard radio/speaker was adequate. I havent tried the standard CD player. Quite frankly, I wanted a vehicle to get great mileage and emulate an S40 Volvo w/sunroof. I drove an S40 and loved it. The Civic EX is better in many ways. So far, this is a great low end vehicle.

How common is this? - 2007 Honda Civic
By Kat - August 13 - 11:06 amI just had to get my front brakes replaced on my 2007 Honda Civic with only 20,000 miles. This is way too early I think. Has anyone had any similar problems? I am not hard on the brakes and I just drive it from work back home with little traffic!

A Little Disappointed - 2007 Honda Civic
By James - July 31 - 3:13 amI previously owned a 2004 manual Civic, which was a fantastic car that never had any problems. But Ive had number of small problems with my 2007 Civic in just the first 18 months of ownership, and I fear these are signs of larger problems down the road. The A/C broke, driver-side sun visor broke, water-pump had a recall and needed to be replaced, and the car almost didnt start after sitting for just two days recently in 30 degree weather. I plan to trade this car within the next month or so.
