Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Upgrade to EX, its worth it - 2012 Honda Civic

This is a great car. Honda lives up to everything they stand for. Fuel economy, value, and its a really nice looking car! We upgraded to the EX model. Its less than $2,000 more but you get sunroof, bluetooth, and alloy wheels. Its definitely worth it for those 3 things.

  • 58000 miles without a problem - 2001 Honda Civic

I have had the car for almost 4 years now, with 58000 miles and nothing but oil changes and a 30000 mile check up. Car still has great acceleration and even the OEM tires. It is no sports car by any means, but a very reliable car with sporty aspirations.

  • Fantastic car! - 2001 Honda Civic

My boyfriend and I just bought this car a few months ago, and we LOVE it. We both have older cars (him, a 67 Chevy me, an 86 Volvo) that we love dearly, but this car takes the cake. Its very reliable, fun to drive, comfortable even for very tall people, and is very well designed, inside and out. We get about 33 mpg city and 40 highway, which is a huge money-saver. Parts are relatively inexpensive and easy to find, and the car is pretty easy to work on.

  • never get to drive it - 2006 Honda Civic

My wife had a Toyota Sienna that was totaled in an accident. We didnt need another large car so we decided to go with a small car. We considered the Corolla but this car had so much new technology and safety features going for it that the decision was an easy one. Our other criteria was mpg and reliability. Apparently its fun to drive because I rarely get the opportunity. My wife really enjoys driving it and has absolutely no regrets having bought it.

I have had no major problems with my civic since I have owned it. I wish the front was more roomier, but other than that, great car!

  • Excellent Car - 2002 Honda Civic

This is my second Honda Civic. My first one was an 88 hatchback. The quality is outstanding. The shifter is smooth, no rattles or noises are noted. The engine is peppy (127 hp in EX)and the gas milage is amazing. Its fun to drive.

I love my car. The only disappointment I have in the car that I have had for the past four years is the fact that it seems to dent very easily. The slightest tap will dent the car. But as far as reliability and performance, I love the car.

  • First Honda - 2008 Honda Civic

First Honda I have ever owned. Excellent car, spacious inside, excellent fuel economy, gauges and other interior features are well laid out. Smooth driving and handles well. Starts and stops smoothly. This is my first experience with a navigation system and I really like it. It gives concise and accurate directions and it follows my voice commands accurately. Trunk space is considerable given the size of the car. I traded a Chevrolet Silverado to this car, so the change was considerable, but at this time Im thinking I may not want to own anything else. Considerable consideration has been given to owner comfort and safety. You cannot ask for much more than that.
