Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Great car. Went from a 97 Crown Vic P71 to this and love the gas mileage. Rides nice and is sporty looking. I am 62 and thought I would lose headroom with the sunroof but I did not. I fit very nice in it.

I am the 2nd owner of this family car, and I love its reliability. It is not by any means a "performance" car however it is still very fun to drive and with 160,000 miles I am stil extremely happy, not to mention 40 mpg!

  • From one Civic to another! - 2010 Honda Civic

Today was a great day! I left the house at 10am and by 11am I was the owner of another Civic LX and was ecstatic! I was sad a bit, as I am retiring a 1998 Civic LX that has been with me through thick and thin and is a great car! I got the Urban Titanium Metallic and am loving it. The ride is so smooth and the new warranty is AMAZING!!! It covers virtually EVERYTHING!

Mileage started out at 30mpg first tank, 35 Mpg second tank and about 38 mpg currently on third tank. Smooth comfortable ride. Pretty quiet. Plenty of power for everyday use.

I initially bought the hybrid to drive in the HOV lane to save time going to work. I got it just prior to gas prices going up so I paid invoice. This car has really impressed us on its ride and especially the mileage. I have gotten just over 40 mpg average since purchasing the vehicle 13,000 miles ago. I tried to be a miser on one tank and got 52 mpg. Handling is smooth and tight compared to the top heavy Prius. Great car, would buy another.

  • Love This Car!! - 2007 Honda Civic

I have only had my hybrid for a month now and I love it. Im averaging about 43 mpg (have 1700 miles on it already) and am very pleased with the performance. The car handles well, is fun to drive and the navi system and XM radio are fantastic features. I got a great deal on this car and it has been worth every penny so far. If I had to say anything negative about it, it would be the lack of lumbar support, but the seats arent that bad compared to the 98 Jetta I was driving. The other surprising thing about this car is how much interior room there is. My Jetta was a bigger car, but had less room inside. Definitely a plus. If you are thinking about getting this car, DO IT.

  • The best gas saver - 2003 Honda Civic

Plenty of pickup. Gas mileage averages about 45 mpg. Keeps up with all the highway traffic. Looks like a regular car, not pudgy like Toyota Prius. I have beat Prius models in high country climbs.

Having driven Hondas most of my life I had pretty high expectations for gas mileage. My 1989 accord would consistently get 32mpg in the city and I once got it up to 40mpg driving cross country. So I figured a Honda hybrid would get even better gas mileage. Talk about disappointing. If I really concentrate on my driving (gentle on the gas, avoid the brakes, etc) I can get the mpgs up to 34 in the city and low 40s on the highway. If my leadfoot wife drives it gets well under 30. After getting over the dissappointing fuel efficiency the car has been decent. It has a surprising amount of pickup and handles well enough to avoid dying in Los Angeles traffic.

  • I love passing gas stations! - 2004 Honda Civic

Since I drive 1000+ miles per week for my job, I bought the Hybrid to give my beloved Xterra a break....as well as to improve my gas mileage from 15 to 50 mpg. Though I still love my Nissan, the Hybrid has been everything that I expected and more. In order to keep it at optimum fuel efficiency, Ive noticed that I need to check the tire pressure and adjust regularly.
