Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Hybrid Honda is terrific - 2004 Honda Civic

We thought we were going to purchase the Toyota Prius, but were not pleased with the dashboard configuration. We then decided on the Honda Civic Hybrid and are extremely pleased. We discuss each morning over who will get to drive it; the one going the most miles wins. We are very pleased with our purchase.

  • nice little car - 2004 Honda Civic

excellent handing. NO mechanical problems. comfortable ride (seating). roomy back seat. good vision (except when it rains, water tends to stay on rear window). Seats are very low, 6way power-seating would be great. NO place for handbag. Beige color I chose is very hard for others to see, daytime running lights are necessary. So nice to get a $2000 tax rebate.

  • Everythings Great But The Radio - 2004 Honda Civic
    By -

This car is wonderful. Around LA, I get 37-43 MPG, and no less than 35MPG in around-town driving. I have only one complaint--after years of driving Hondas main line Acura Legend, I was not expecting this Hybrid to have such a crummy sounding radio. It sounds quite "tinny". I replaced the speakers, but the radio needs to be upgraded as well. They should off er an option going in to get their better quality radio/CD player. Fix this one problem (or wait and buy the Accord Hybrid when it comes out this fall, which should have better quality equipment) and one should reach driving nirvana.

  • I like my car - 1995 Honda Civic

Ive been driving this car for 4 years and its already 10 yrs old, with 170K miles. It still drives great and I have not invested much at all in repairs. Its extremely reliable. I highly recommend this car.

  • 50 MPG Urban Assault Tank - 2009 Honda Civic
    By -

I had forgotten how superb Honda cars are. The Civic Hybrid w/leather and NAV has all the features that my former Camry Hybrid had... at $10K less, based on actual purchase prices. The Civic is a handsome design in/out. My first tank returned 50 MPG average, and I expect to do better over time. Polished Metal exterior was a great choice. This car is SOLID and a pleasure to drive. It FAR exceeds my expectations.

  • Best of 2016...not bad 2017 - 2017 Honda Civic
    By -

When Civic hit the road in 2016, it was the best compact car on the market with its unique turbo engine and fantastic handling. Now that its 2017, Civic has serious competition. The 17 Elantra handles almost as well and has a bunch smarter, prettier, comfortable interior with technology (including blind spot monitoring) available on all trims rather than select trims like the Civic. The 17 Corolla now comes standard with forward collision technology thats only available on Civics for an extra 1,000 if youre lucky to find on on the lot. If you want the best performing sedan/hatch/coupe, civic wins., but if you want interior quality, look elseware as civic falls behind both toyota and hyundai by a large margin. The seats are some of the most generic quality Ive seen in a car ever. The armrests in the center console and door are a spandex/nylon material stretched over plastic--is extremely rough/uncomfortable to the touch and attacts dirt so fast your car will look like you bought it form a used lot within 3 months.

my vehicle has been in the shop 11 times since april and it still isn`t fixed between the motor mount, steering fluid leak.....on and on problems

  • Better than I expected. - 1998 Honda Civic
    By -

Have 92K+ on this car, and 7 years, and still have one of the most fuel efficient cars on the market. Always reliable. Friends who borrow it love its "kick" -- me too. I just dont have a reason to sell it until its an absolute heap! More stylin cars cant beat its advantages.

  • Economy, but a bit more - 2004 Honda Civic
    By -

As an introductory model for the Civic, this isnt bad. Originally puchased for my teenage son, he rearended someone within 2 weeks, not badly, but enough to get it taken away. Now it is my work car. I own an SI, this is a nimble answer for m-f workday week. Great gas mileage around town in stop/go traffic and enough pep to get me out of trouble, not enough to get me INTO trouble (unlike my SI). Overall, I dont like the hand-roll windows, they make me feel like an idiot, but other than that, I like the car for what it is, a workhorse. A cute workhorse, but a workhorse none the less.
