As you see, Ive had a number of Hondas in the last 15 years. I can say the manual transmission is superior to the auto. The EX is worth the extra $$ for the engine, tires, moonroof and wheels. Great mileage. I get 40 on the highway. Sure, everyone has the EXACT car you do so you see a lot of them around, but hey, it just shows how smart they all are! I routinely get my Hondas over 200,000 miles and I cant imagine this one will be any different. They arent flashy, powerful or luxurious. But they are dependable, economical and sometimes even fun! Get one... or 8 like I have.

I love my new Civic hybrid. My first tank or two was disappointing in the high 30 MPGs, but Ive learned to drive it so that it easily gets into the 50s, and I even had one highway trip of 500 miles average out to over 60 mpg. Those people who are disappointed with the mileage need to realize that if you drive it like a sports car, youre not going to realize the EPA mileage stats - which is true of any car. This car is a far cry from the rusty pickup truck it replaced. It drives incredibly smoothly, and is utterly quiet on the road and at a stoplight. A real pleasure to drive, and Im smiling all the way to the pump. Unlike other hybrids, it looks, feels, and drives like a real car!

  • Hybrid? Great! - 2005 Honda Civic

I have owned my hybrid for about a year now and love it. I drive mostly in the 45-55 mph range and average anywhere from 45-52 mpg. My mileage all depends on how much I use the A/C and how much I gas from a stand still. I have taken the car on a long trip and it was comfortable! I would definitely recommend this car.

  • This is no commuter car - 2005 Honda Civic

Bought this car 11 months ago and finally relieved myself of this car yesterday. The ride can be likened to an amusement park go cart. I commuted 100 miles a day at highway speeds. Highway bumps in the road were bone jarring at best. There were days when I would arrive at work with headaches from this car. As far as workmanship, the cloth on the door was coming off, the car was delivered with a blown speaker and there were numerous rattles. I definitely would not recommend this car to highway commuters. I bought a Camry yesterday.

Honda has done it again. Wish i could afford another one. These cars are awesome. Ive owned Honda products for 11 years, and the Civic Si is More fun to drive than any other Honda ive owned before. No more domestics for me. Oh and 18 members of the family as well. Thank you again Honda.

My wife and I will be purchasing a 2005 Civic Hybrid 3Q05. This is the most refined Civic in the history of the Civics. It is not a perfect car by no means. The SI 160 hp should be offered as an option because 127 hp is too anemic climbing the passes in Los Angeles.Acura sells a version in Canada called the EL. The EL has accord style taillights. You can get leather interior, fog lamps, heated seats and wood trimed as standard equipment on the Touring Model. The EX buyer should also have these choices of factory leather, fog lamps or wood trimed dash.We have a 02 Civic EX which will be my wifes car when we purchase the hybrid model later this year.

Went out looking for a high-mpg honda, drove this beauty away from the lot the next day. Love the Civic, the Si is just icing on the cake! :)

  • The one and only - 2005 Honda Civic

January of 2005, was the first time i had ever bought a honda. The honda civic not only has the reliability and the great gas mileage, but also has the styling bold looks. The only way that i would trade my civic in is by trading to another civic with a sunroof and other features and equipments. Civics are great...

  • Just ordinary - 2005 Honda Civic

Reliable transportation but little else. Starts, goes, stops just fine, and it looks okay. Absolutely terrible ride quality (harsh, bouncy, crude & unrefined), sun visor fabric is rotting away, door fabric coming unglued, hole in drivers floor mat at 5,000 miles, thin paint on thin sheet metal, crappy speakers already failing, no lock on glove compartment, no tint strip at top of windshield, no passenger door power lock button, loses power steering fluid every 6 months, too few features for the money overall. Because of this Civic, Honda has lost me as a customer for good.

  • Wish I had two of em - 2005 Honda Civic

Ive been driving this Civic Hybrid for a week and already my fuel bills are plummeting. It is a great car and rides much better than my previous car - a 2003 Prius. Its smooth and quiet at both street and freeway speeds. My MPG is slowly rising (they told me it would take approximately 600 miles to get to optimum mileage levels) and now stands at 41 mpg average - up from 33 when first delivered. Friends and neighbors cant believe its a hybrid -- as one said "It looks like a regular car and not an egg". Honda has nailed this technology. I wish I could afford two of them - Id trade my Lexus in an instant for another Civic Hybrid!
