Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I test drove a number of cars, including the Prius, the Accord, a Mazda 3, a Camry, a MazdaSpeed 3, and a Ford Focus. For the price, it cant be beat. Just an amazing car for an amazing deal. It handled better than any of those cars. Not quite as comfortable as the Camry, but its a lot cheaper.

I bought my car a little over a month ago, this car is so incredable to drive. It is a smooth ride it handles road bumps great, it has great acceleration. With the windows down the moon roof open and the Florida breeze in your hair you cant loose.

I looked at many cars on the market. Honda has a reputation for reliability. Even though this car may have ~10HP less then some of its competitors, I belive that the car is a better overall package then the competition. You can easily make 10 more HP out of this motor with a few cheap mods. If you want fast straightline accelerating car, then this car is quick. But I have driven faster 4cyl. The overall package (interior, handling, performance, and reliability) plus the fun factor made this an easy choice for me. I have over 4,000 miles and am even happier with it then the day I bought it...

I just turned my car over the 100,000 mile mark yesterday and it still runs like it has only 10 miles. I purchased this car new and have not had one major problem with it. In fact, this is the best Honda Ive ever owned (after having 3 Accords prior to this purchase). I was only buying this car to keep for a short time, but just cant seem to part with it.

  • Low City Mileage - 2006 Honda Civic

Only have 1900 mile on car, but my city MPG has never been over 25, Usually 22-24. Hwy has been good average 40 to 42 MPG. My car was built in japan, no problems so far. hard to get used to the hood sight line, not being able to see end of hood is annoying, but i guess ill get used to it. Overall very satisfied, except for the city MPG, which is not much of a factor since i am retired, The Great Hwy mileage comes in handy when we go to Arizona to see the kids.

  • This car gets great gas mileage - 2007 Honda Civic

I have only had the car for a week, driven about 400 miles. The onboard computer says I am getting about 53 mpg, and I still have a little under half a tank left, so it seems like it is right on the money. And everyone says that it gets better gas mileage as you put on more miles, so believe it, this car can easily get 50 mpg if you drive like you are supposed to and dont try keeping up with the gas guzzlers going 75 mph on the freeway. I average about 60 mph on freeway and do both city and highway driving, and 53 mpg is the average of both.

  • This is a great car - 1994 Honda Civic

I bought this car for $200 from someone who tore up the tranny. It is a 5 speed and this kid didnt know how to drive one, so he learned on this car. It is great! The only reason I had to go into the tranny was because of him, and it was a simple fix. It has 156,000 miles on it, and it is very dependable. I do wish it was a little more comfortable, but it will do with gas being $2.80 a gallon. 42 MPG in a 12 year old car!!!

This car was my first, and lucky for me, it was new. I chose this over a Nissan Sentra SE, but I should have waited for the 2002 Sentra SE-R. This car has held up pretty well, except for a couple interior trim issues. The nighthawk black pearl paint has been the worst paint I have ever had experience with. My moms black 98 Maxima with 85,000 miles on it looks better. It has been extremely reliable, never broken down, great gas mileage getter, which is beneficial for me, being a college student who frequently travels home. Resale will be good compared to other vehicles when it will need replacing. Ho-hum performance and tiring seats on long drives, minimal front leg room. (Im 62)
