Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Nice car! - 1998 Honda Civic

This car is amazing. I get great gas mileage. And now I get about 44mpg on the highway(80mph). I put a custom exhaust and a cold air intake now the car screams while giving me great gas mileage

  • Best Car I Ever Had - 1998 Honda Civic

I bought my Civic in 1997. It was an absolute joy to own. I always said that I would buy it all over again. Within the last week I sold it to my daughter per her request and purchased a 2005 Honda CRV. I never had any problems with the Civic - loved every minute of it - would still own it if my daughter didnt need it. And, so far, I have nothing bad to say about the CRV either.

  • If you are taller than 511" dont buy - 2007 Honda Civic
    By -

Ive put about 2000 miles on my 2007 EX Civic Coupe. Averaging 28 mpg city and 35 mpg highway. I like the car for city driving, but it has annoyances that may force me to sell it in the long run. On long trips its bouncy suspension makes me car sick and the twitchy steering forces you to stay alert. Head clearance is a MAJOR problem for those taller than 511". Im 511.5" and my head is 1/2 an inch from the roof. Its very irritating when my hair brushes the roof. Its driving me crazy. Should have gotten the DX with 1.5 inches extra clearance due to no moon roof.

  • 30K miles and excellent so far - 2009 Honda Civic
    By -

I will have about 200K on this car in 4 years...have driven 30K so far and there are no issues what so ever. I get 38-41MPG combined (improved from 35 when purchased). The car handles well and is very comfortable with the exception of the location of the E- brake. Be very careful...this bothers me personally on long trips. No issues whatsoever at 30K. The Goodyears are crappy and wearing down. The stereo has one speaker that vibrates (I dont care). System sounds decent enough. I can plug in my ipod, love that. Stick shift is smooth and very sweet with adequate power. This car has been exactly as desired so far. I expect the build quality to stand above most other brands.

i just got my car and its a little to early to notice anything wrong with it , i only have about 300 miles on it right now . but as far as i know , this look really good , i went from a tahoe to this civic and iam loving the mpg this car can gives . you cant expect to much performance out of a 4 cyl car , but is better than what i expected , and the seats feel great . like the "si" look alike wheels too .

Love this car! Handles great, fast pickup, cute design, only problem Ive had is the touch screen went black and it was difficult to get back. Not sure how I did it. So far has not happened again.

  • A Good Buy - 2006 Honda Civic

Got this car a month after its release and originally wanted the navigation but there was a 6 month waiting list so I opted for the ex coupe. Used to get a ton of compliments on the styling which is always a good thing. The two tier dash took a while to get used to, but I really like it now. Quality of the materials are great! Coming from an IS300...this car is actually pretty fun to drive, considering its a compact 4-cyl. Engine needs more torque but has good power delivery, I think Im just used to the V6 torque. Drove this car from Seattle to LA and back and its surprisingly comfortable! This car is very economical which is what I needed. I saved $800 last year on gas compared to my IS.

  • Awesome. - 2000 Honda Civic
    By -

Love this car. Nothing to hate about it. After all was said and done, I bought the Civic brand new for about $13,000. Mine only has 39,500 miles on it. New tires at 32k, new battery at 38k (but the car was almost 6 years old, so I expected it) Love the STANDARD air, CD, Keyless entry. Add a trunk light and illuminated ignition as standard for all models. Could use more power, but has plenty for Value Package. Make a power package (power mirros, door locks, and windows) an option for the VP model. But no complaining here.. $13,000 for a new Civic?! Awesome I say! Keep up the good work Honda!
