Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Fun, sporty and powerful. I wouldnt mind a dual-cam engine or even another 50 horsepower, but the stock engine is still very responsive and can get up and go with low RPMs.

  • Thank god I upgraded - 2003 Honda Civic

I had been driving a Honda Civic Coupe DX, which I thought was the best car in the world. Thanks to an untimely event with a deer, I upgraded. The new EX is incredibly comfortable. I feel as if I am driving around in a lazy boy recliner. The gas mileage seems to be just as efficient as the DX, but the power and handling of this car makes the DX inferior.

  • My "Bad " Little Car - 2003 Honda Civic

I use the word "bad" in the title as many young people use the word - "Bad" is good and my 2002 Civic is just that - Good! Good gas mileage (36 per gallon on the road) Good in that I can use regular gas as opposed to Premium, good in that it is easy on my pocketbook to maintain, good to look at and easy on the eyes. Good in that it maintains its value and has little depreciation. Good relationship with my dealer. Good continuing contact with the salesman who sold me the car, Good, good, good. My "Bad" Little car is GOOD.

  • I have a bad feeling about this - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

Ever do something then get the feeling you just did something really bad? This is a basic LX, Ive only had it 3 weeks so far, but am finding things out I hate. When you open the rear windows it creates a horrible loud noise that almost caused me to wreck. It hurts our ears so badly. I asked my dealer about it and 7 people jumped up really working me over saying ALL Hondas do it and so do all other vehicles. They are aware of the defect and have a bulletin about the buffeting noise. Im telling you, the Sonata didnt do it and neither did my 626. The interior is cheap. If you get scratches youre just out of luck. Mine came with them on the steering column. Really poor stereo.

  • WOW! - 2006 Honda Civic

WOW! This baby is fun to drive! She gets great gas mileage, is very comfortable, and roomier than it appears on the outside. Looks very stylish sitting in my driveway and out on the road. Only complaint: The parking brake is placed in an odd place and my knee does set on it. Additional gripe, but not complaint...the EX comes "XM READY" (XMs words not Hondas) which basically means XM Ready to take your $600 to install the rest of the system. And since Honda has a proprietary connector, and you have to rip out the dash and the back seats they will pretty much get their money if you want it done right.

  • Horrible car. - 2012 Honda Civic

Great on gas but was a horrible car in general... would always break down one thing after another. Did not hold its value at all...
