Overview & Reviews
In typical Honda fashion, the Civic receives a number of minor changes this year in order to keep it fresh. For the coupe and sedan, there's new exterior styling, including restyling for the front and rear bumpers, hood, headlights and grille. Inside, the audio speakers have been upgraded, extra sound deadening material has been added and floor mats are now standard in the LX and EX. The LX trim has slightly bigger wheels this year (15 inches) and standard keyless entry. A new value package contains air conditioning, a CD player and a new center console. For the Si hatchback, there are new headlight and taillight designs, larger 16-inch wheels and flashier interior trim. Like the regular sedan, the Civic Hybrid has updated styling, standard floor mats and improved speakers. It also has a new interior console with an armrest, adjustable rear headrests and a manual driver-seat height adjuster. Finally, all 2004 Honda Civic sedans and coupes have a new seatbelt reminder system.
- Fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engines, roomy interior, reputation for durability and quality, impressive crash test scores.
- Top-of-the-line models are pricey, antilock brakes not available on DX or LX.

I love my Civic Hybrid - 2004 Honda Civic
By Filippo - February 7 - 10:00 amI get 47mpg highway, 39 city. It took a little getting used to driving a hybrid at first. The engine autostop was a shocker. Who would ever think of an engine shutting off while stopped in traffic? And when entering a highway, going uphill was also a bit tough. In order to get more power, you shift into 2 for a few seconds, then just shift back into 1. (This is with an automatic civic sedan.) A few things I miss from my 2002 Honda Civic EX are the color. . I also gained alloy wheels, side impact airbags. In short, I love my honda hybrid!

Very Comfortable Drive - 2004 Honda Civic
By ronsing - February 7 - 10:00 amThe most interesting thing about driving this vehicle is that you really don;t notice anything different about it. It handles like any other Honda Civic. Now, that bwing said, it is a little unnerving at first, when the engine shuts down at a light, but the car is so quiet that you normally don;t even notice that, or the fact that the engine starts again when you take your foot off the brake. I had an SUV prior to this, and only filling the tank once a month is a treat.

Whats Not To Like? - 2004 Honda Civic
By JeromeGiraffe - January 17 - 6:50 pmThis car never lets me down. Excellent quality build, decent performance for the size of engine and fabulous gas mileage. I am very pleased with this car, wish Id been driving Hondas for the past 30 years instead of a series of disapointing North American vehicles.

Tough Act to Beat! - 2004 Honda Civic
By cidarcca - January 11 - 2:00 amI spent several months researching all cars in this class and chose the 2004 model even though 2003s are cheaper. Its got great reliability, resale value, and exceptional build quality. Also, its got comfy seats and a real smooth engine/transmission combo. The 2004 EX model upgrades make it more distinctive (new alloys, front/rear lights & bumpers, antilock brakes, stereo & sound insullation, drivers seat adjustment, new center console) plus the new Magnesium color looks great! The power moonroof eats up a lot of headroom but Im 6-1" and can still fit but its a little snug - thank goodness the drivers seat adjusts up and down!

Great gas Econ!... 44, not 48MPG - 2004 Honda Civic
By marknguyen - January 5 - 2:00 amIts manuf. rated at 48, but Im getting 44. I driver mostly on the Freeway, in Los Angeles, mostly low- peak hours, averaging 65 Miles Per hour, and getting 44MPG. Still, it uses Regular Gas, rather than my old Super Unleaded that got 21MPG... Better than 50% savings!
