Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • i like my honda!!!! - 2003 Honda Civic

this is my first ever honda, after 3 toyotas. the toyotas are great for hard driving, they seem to thrive on high rpm shifting. the honda likes more gentle driving, gas mileage suffers with hard driving, so in that regard the toyota is better for me. ive been dissapointed with the quality control of the honda. lots of small things, sun visor drooped, one window is very slow, dealer says it cant really be fixed, weather striping around windshield is not smooth, etc. mechanically, its great, good accel (get the 5 spd)sound system is fine, love the turn radius!

I love my car the only thing that gets me is that I have had my driver door tumbler replaced and I need it replaced again. It is fun to drive reliable and really cute. I have had alot of fun putting a few custom things on it and everyone knows it is my car when I drive down the street.

  • Great Car for the value - 2002 Honda Civic

Ive been a Ford owner for years.I decided to take a look at Honda Civics and I was very impressed. Quality and workmanship is outstanding. Ive only has owned my Civic for a few weeks now but overall it is a great car. Being a small car the ride can be a bit more noticeable on the bumps. The price was right with no pressure to buy. Check them out!! My only complaint would be with the options which are very expensive with little negotiating.

This is my wifes new vehicle and she absolutely loves it. Im pretty impressed as well. We see 29 MPG driving during the week (all city), and have gotten 38 on long highway trips. The car runs great and is a smooth comfortable ride. Ive been very impressed with the build quality and reliability of this car. It beats the heck out of my old 96 Taurus for comfort, quality, and convenience. I can see hanging on to this car for a long time. Ill be looking Honda when my Taurus dies.

  • I love this car - 2002 Honda Civic

My parents got me this car for my senior year of high school and for college. The car is in great shape despite some parking lot dings from careless drivers. I have 35,800 miles on it and never had a problem yet. The car runs beautifully no matter what the weather is like and the a/c is powerful and will get to the right temperature within 5 minutes of turning it on. The frame of the car will protect the people inside from almost any impact imaginable and I still snicker when I pull away from the gas pump with a full tank for less than $25. Its incredibly easy to handle and a great buy for any driver, but especially for college kids trying to save a little money. I love my car!

Good looking, fun to drive, easy on the pocket book. Just an all around nice economy car, for kids from 18 to 65.

1st and foremost this vehicle has never accepted more than 11 gals of fuel, the most miles I have gotten to a tank was 385, I dont know how others can say they went 500 miles on a tank. 2nd I have been in two marble size hale storms and to my amazement no damage what so ever, call it luck, but that is amazing. Other than that I drive 114 miles a day and never had a problem thus far.

  • 2nd DX Hatchback - 2000 Honda Civic
    By -

I bought my 2000 Civic DX Hatchback in May 2003, I at the same time had a 1991 Civic DX Hatchback that I bought when it was 8 years old (and would still have it, but Husband wrecked it!). I love these cars, perfect for running around anywhere & everywhere. Fold the Seats down, take the dogs to the Vet, load up luggage & take a road trip. And on the Highway gas mileage cant be beat, get close to 350 miles on 1 tank, & then I was REALLY movin (yes, had the radar detector on). Parking is a breeze can park in lots of spaces other vehicles have to pass up, easy to wash (15 Mins). Other than routine maintenance, fill the Tank, & take off! Ill be sure & buy another....Overrall Best Car I ever had.

  • What SUV??? - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

What a surprise. Who knew that Honda would make a car with the tech features I demand, the mileage I need and price it at $21,100. I traded my luxury SUV with Nav, Power everything and 14MPG for this little "economy car" that gets 38MPG Hwy at 75MPH. I literally test drove the fresh off the truck Civic 1 block and told the salesman it was sold. Great car. It actually feels less like a Japanese econobox and more like a euro-inspired sedan with tight handling thanks to the 50-series standard tires. The Navigation is better than my Infinitis and it doesnt break the bank at the pump. Buy it and pay cash. Take the rest of the money and invest it!

  • Enjoy - 2003 Honda Civic

Bought new for $8900, year end-sale. Commuter-car. No problems at 15K. I dont understand the complaints about the paint, Hondas seem to have the best paint appearance in the business. Head room at 6 is tight, rear view in the coupe is tough. The exterior design of the coupe makes this car one of the best looking vehicles on the road. Does seem to have slightly soft suspension(not for slaloms). 39 MPG (mainly highway. Surprisingly large trunk space, and rear seats are reasonably comfortable for 2 people.
