Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Pleasantly Surprised - 2006 Honda Civic

Bought the civic without a test drive. Nervous...but was pleasantly surprised. Nice styling...drives well. Getting 44 MPG on 1st tank. With navi and other features, really lots of fun to drive. Also relieved that golf clubs fit. Kids also think "hybrid" is cool. I affectionately call it my nerd mobile.

I love this car! I am getting about 50 MPG driving hilly rural Northern AZ. I will say I have slowed down and try not to exceed 58 MPH. I am learning to drive all over again and find that getting a higher MPG has become a fun challenge. The car is beautiful.

From the time I drove it off the lot this car has been a blast to drive. It is my first car and I am very happy with it. Some people think the exterior looks odd, but the looks grow on you. Everyone loves the inside and the shifter never fails to be noticed. I havent seen any others around where I live in MA, but I enjoy driving a unique car.

  • Good but not great - 2000 Honda Civic

Poor pick up for such a light car. The body design will not bode well when in accident. I had a small accident and had to have the entire right front body replaced (I hit a small animal). I do recommend for city driving and gas useage. This was my first car, I am not looking to make it a permanent fixture at my house.

  • Great Car - 2001 Honda Civic

I was planning to buy a Jetta, but always liked the fact that my friends who drove Civics thought the world of them. There just happened to be a Honda dealer next to the VW one I was at, so I figured, "why not check it out"? I am so happy I bought the Civic - its fun to drive, gets great mileage, and is surprisingly roomy inside for a smaller sedan. My only complaint about its performance is the transmission sometimes "catches" as Im accelerating (I drive an automatic).

  • After Three Months - 2008 Honda Civic

After 3 months of driving, Ive settled in. The car is very fun to drive. Handling and braking: Superb. I am 56" and seating: Fine. Acceleration: very adequate. Stick shift: easy. Road noise: Not absent but certainly tolerable for conversations. Stereo is v.good and controls on the steering wheel are very handy. Plenty of storage in main compartment and trunk. The instrument panel takes very little to get used to. Panel can be adjusted for trip odometer (up to 2 trips), total mileage, outside temperature-nice. City/Hwy Mileage has been 31 steady. Hwy = 37/38. Moonroof is a must-fun! Only problem: Headlights needed adjustment (too low).

I purchased this car on 8/25/06 after a 2 month wait. I have not been disappointed. Even though I am still in break in and have not gone into I- Vtec, I can tell this car has alot of power. The fit an finish is awesome.

  • Awesome First Car - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

This was my very first car purchase and Im so glad I chose the Civic ex coupe. I love the way it turns and the stereo is very nice. My first fillup gave me 33 miles per gallon- I had a lot of in-town driving. The a/c is good as well. Ive only had this car for 4 days and Ive enjoyed every minute in it.

  • Happy I did it.... - 2001 Honda Civic

First Honda I had purchased and I love it! Have owned Chevy and Ford small cars and this Civic outclasses them all - by a wide gap. I really like that the car is still worth something after having it for a while. I would definately buy another and recommend one to others. My wife likes to drive it too. I am 63" and fit into it okay. I commute a lot and the fuel economy is excellent!I bought it to commute and that it does that very, very well.
