Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  We drove to L.A.and back it was great. Ran well drove around 70 got 45 mpg and love every miniute of the drive. Honda did the job right.

  This is the most competent car I have ever owned. It gets me to and from work without complaint, will drop an M3 like a bad habit on a twisty road, averages 27 mpg, screams like a porn star and looks great doing it. You simply cannot upset this little rockets composure when the turns come close and fast. Just dont smoke the brakes.

  I had thought used Hondas were overpriced. Then I got lucky and found a 95 EX coupe/automatic that was a bargain. Now I gladly pay the premium to buy Honda. Civics are well designed, well built. The EX is sporty, economical, reliable. If I were to give this car a report card, it would get all As, with the one glaring weakness being very poor traction in the snow (special compound snow tires addressed that issue). In sum, the only way you can go wrong buying a used Civic is to overpay for it.

  Very good little car. I cant say what happened to other owners Honda Hybrid, but our gas mileage started out about 37 - 39 mpg. This is not what we were led to expect. However, to be fair the mileage started increasing around the 15000 mark, without a change in our driving to what it is now of approximately 43 - 46 mpg. We feel this is a good reliable car that still needs a little tweaking. Also, it would be very nice if a hatchback was offered.

  I expected to much after reading all the good reviews on the Civic. Compaired to my 93 Nissan Sentra the Civic is a pain to drive and park.

  I did a LOT of research before deciding to buy this car. Its reputation, style and price tag won me over. I bought a VERY basic civic and have been very happy. The gas mileage is a given, its great. The sound system is really good. Trunk space is way more than youd imagine. I get compliments on the color all the time (I bought the Fiji Blue). Its speedy when it needs to be, fun to drive and handles very well. Very smooth. Turning radius is excellent! Seats are comfortable (and Im a big girl).

  This car is perfect for me; its simple but pretty, reliable, and affordable. The air condition and music controls and easy to use, so they can be easily manipulated without looking while driving. Its surprisingly spacious for such a small car, so its very comfortable.

  A Great Car to Drive - 2006 Honda Civic

  I bought my Civic Hybrid in January of 2006 and have been thoroughly impressed. Since the Spring, I have been averaging 50 mpg, which is a good mix of city/traffic and highway miles. I also have the navigation system and find it invaluable. This car is great.

  hey all. i havnt driven this car yet cuz im like, 14 but i have rode in it and thought it was awsome. my friend was driving it and he could chirp the tires into 3rd. it was awsome. i highly recomend this car for everyone looking for a fun, stylish, fast, reliable honda. ttyl.

  Ive had this car for 8 days, and I absolutely love it! I got it as a high school graduation present, and I still cant believe that I could have a car with this many features and perks for the price that my mom paid for it. I love the color, galaxy gray, and all my friends have been complimenting me on how colorful, pretty, and spacious the interior is. All in all, I couldnt be happier; this is the perfect car for a teen going off to college. Parents: Buy this car for your kids!
