Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

seems to be a well put together car. handles very well, has better than average gas mileage, a bit hard to get in and out of (due to the fact that Im 6 ft tall).

Excellent daily driver. Lacks low end torque, but makes up for it with VTEC scream on top end. Good gas mileage if I keep my foot out of it.

We bought a 2012 Honda Civic back in June. It is just my husband and myself and we decided to downsize. We had a 2003 Chevrolet Impala. We were disappointed with the service we got from the Impala. I was interested in buying a Toyota Corolla. My daughter has a 2004 Corolla and has gotten excellent service. For example she still has the original battery. The Corolla has only had to have routine service work (oil changes, brakes, and tires). When the time came to ditch the Impala we had trouble finding Corollas. So we went and looked at Civics. I loved the dash inside the car. I love the Econ. feature. We loved the way the car handles.

To start off, I usually purchase at least 1 car per year, this is my 13th in my life. With this car, I cant convince myself to get rid of it. Ive customized it to my liking and cant seem to want anything else. No problems with it, I barely have to feed it gas and its very sporty for being a base model.

Great auto for 100 mile r/t to work. Comfortable for 62, 230 lb guy. No repairs as of 35,000 miles, except for service. Handles good in wet conditons but poor in snow.

  • Greatest Little Secret (Not so Secret) - 1996 Honda Civic

Great car ! Long commute (175 miles round trip) Great 38 - 40 mpg. Super reliable. Original everything except required maintenance parts. Original clutch, no mechanical work. Interior still like new. Exterior finally showing a little fade. Steering tight and precise. Few rattles. Only three minor draws... had to replace windshield due to sand blast effect pocketing, due to low ride height, had to replace driver side rubber around window - gets stiff with age and snags to the point window fell off track, and needs just a little more pep, but if you need a great reliable sturdy car this is the one.

Owned two 04 Civics and now have two 06s. Much better car in 06 even though we really liked the 04 too. Ride and safety is improved, gas milage is about the same (36 out of the box) and the new digital dash is very pleasing. We love the new Civic!

Had the car 3 months. Took over a month, and 3 service visits, to finally fix drivers interior door pull handle. The fix ultimately required replacement of entire interior door panel. One of the slides for controlling air conditioning air direction on the dash came apart. Thank goodness I found it before it fell down into the air duct. There was an annoying rattle from the passenger door area. Found it to be the plastic fixture/clip which holds the visor in place. I fixed the rattle. Digital clock on the radio picks up 2-3 minutes per month. I update it about every 3 weeks. Was told me it would require replacing the entire clock/CD module. I dont want to do that, so I will live with it.

Our 14th honda since 1980. Could possibly be the most fun to drive one. We have 1200 miles since 9-17-5.High mileage 44.6 low mileage 29 mpg. It handles like slot car and performs well even in rain. The 1.8 engine is a great combination of performance/economy. An effortless high speed cruiser. Navigation is great. Im 6.2 325lbs and can sit behind myself. Body appears to be Acura tl tsx style. The new civic sedan looks great. Love the airbags and safety features. My wife loves HER new car. Rides almost as nice as our 2005 Accord sedan with leather does. It handles better. I hope its as great a car as our little 1995 Civic hatchback. It has been very quiet with sunroof open and windows cracked open
