Overview & Reviews
In typical Honda fashion, the Civic receives a number of minor changes this year in order to keep it fresh. For the coupe and sedan, there's new exterior styling, including restyling for the front and rear bumpers, hood, headlights and grille. Inside, the audio speakers have been upgraded, extra sound deadening material has been added and floor mats are now standard in the LX and EX. The LX trim has slightly bigger wheels this year (15 inches) and standard keyless entry. A new value package contains air conditioning, a CD player and a new center console. For the Si hatchback, there are new headlight and taillight designs, larger 16-inch wheels and flashier interior trim. Like the regular sedan, the Civic Hybrid has updated styling, standard floor mats and improved speakers. It also has a new interior console with an armrest, adjustable rear headrests and a manual driver-seat height adjuster. Finally, all 2004 Honda Civic sedans and coupes have a new seatbelt reminder system.
- Fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engines, roomy interior, reputation for durability and quality, impressive crash test scores.
- Top-of-the-line models are pricey, antilock brakes not available on DX or LX.

Good car, not great - 2004 Honda Civic
By steve lawrence - November 7 - 10:00 amGood car. Ive owned Hondas since 1980. Was somewhat surprised when I had to have the right front strut replaced (under warranty). Another problem is fuel guage which sometimes (about once a month)will read empty, even though there is gas in tank. Dealer says it is a design flaw and they dont know how to fix it. Otherwise, this is a reliable, solid car.

How can so many people buy this junk? - 2004 Honda Civic
By Henry04 - November 7 - 10:00 amI really hate this car! Summer in Virginia is always hot, and this car has the worst AC I have seen in any of the car! Take >10 minutes to cool down even set at the maximum. I want to get rid of it ASAP!!!

Wonderful - 2004 Honda Civic
By Kia - November 7 - 10:00 amI was scared to buy a new car. My family convinced me to by a honda becasue is was so reliable and the gas mileage was right. Still a little reluctant I went and test drove it. I heard nothing but the wind. The engine was so quite i couldnt believe. Can you tell i am a first car buyer. I love my little HONDA LX. It matches my style and life. Thanks Honda for making such good cars for people like me.

False Advertising - 2004 Honda Civic
By JScottS - October 7 - 2:00 amWhere is the performance?! This is not the car I thought I was buying. Why did Europe get the Type R model? For all you people thinking that you got a great car go online and see the car Europe got. You will think twice about buying the Si. At highway speeds the transmission whines like a spoiled child. I keep reaching for another gear that does not exist. The ride is very rough. This is not a comfortable car for driving any kind of distance. Lousy fuel economy compared to the standard civic. The silver coating on the center console is cheap and easily scratches.

car for aging mom - 2004 Honda Civic
By epigea - October 1 - 2:00 ami bought this car for my mom, whos in her 80s and is used to bigger chryslers. shes ecstatic about the car, its economy, safety and comfort. she loves the remote keyless entry and also being under 5 tall, loves the seat adjustment range. its virtually the only car in the price range that fits the small driver well. she can see out of it, and im so happy that she is safe behind the wheel

Superior Honda Hybrid - - 2004 Honda Civic
By gay e cheney - September 26 - 10:00 amI waited for and sought out this car, wanting a hybrid and having driven Hondas for 30 years now. Not enough dealers around here carry them. Many people waiting for them. I have always had hatch backs and loved them for carrying stuff. Dont know whether or not a hatchback could get as good mileage.

04 Civic Si - 2004 Honda Civic
By cybrjam - September 26 - 10:00 amI was going to buy this car back in 2003, but decided to stay a little longer with my 8 year old car and save some money. I just got the 04 model yesterday and although I havent being able to push it (break-in period); it feels solid. Engine is quiet upon acceleration and super quiet when idle. Road noise can be felt at freeway speeds, but it is a "sports" car. Compared to my old car, the handling is very precise and the transmission is second to none. Got the car for $17,100 plus tax and title.

Personal experience - 2004 Honda Civic
By gertrudis6 - September 20 - 10:00 amI just love the car. All around the proformance surprises me everytime. It handles well both in city and highway. If I had gotten an automatic, I would have been disappointed.
