Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Everything You Need for the Price - 2009 Honda Civic

I selected the LX-S based on the options that comes standard on it as opposed to the LX and even some options not on the EX (leather-wrapped steering wheel). I wanted a spoiler, alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel and Automatic Transmission in a 4 door. The LX-S was tailor made for me. I originally was looking at a Fit based on price, but the LX-S was quoted lower than the Fit. I couldnt believe it. Several hundred below Edmunds TMV. Car feels very solid. Not very powerful, but Im looking for fuel economy and couldnt care less about power. Backseat is large enough for my 2 car seats. Trunk is adequate. Based on price + mpg + reliability Im looking forward to racking up the miles.

  • Great gas mileage - 2002 Honda Civic

Its a great car on reliability and gas mileage. I was a little disapointed on the interior. It looks good, but there is a lot of plastic parts on the dash and door panels and after a while they get loose and rattle. It also needs more power, if you have more than two people in the car its really hard to get it going, especally on the freeway.

  • I love my civic - 2000 Honda Civic

Its size is perfect for a smaller person, I love the way the dash board looks, and I got it in vintage plum. Since then I have come to appreciate the reliability that Honda provides. Even though I live in the NE where we get winter 6 months a year it has always started. It is the perfect size for a small family or a college student, I practically live out of mine sometimes! Seats 4 adults comfortably, 5 at a squeeze (if they are small). A great car to learn to drive stick with, it is very forgiving.

  • HONDA CIVIC SI 6 YEARS LATER - 2000 Honda Civic

I bought this car in college because I needed a car to get from point A to B and that was different and fun to drive. I have had no problems other than what the previous owner had caused due to performance mods. My mileage in city driving has been about 23 mpg while on the highway at 72 mph it has been 32.5 max.I am very happy with this car and love driving it.

  • Civic Hybrid 03 ... great car - 2003 Honda Civic

40k miles on it now. If I drive it insanely hard I get 41 mpg. Normal around 48 mpg. If I pay attention, I can get 55 mpg (stay off the interstate to do this.) Acceleration is enough to merge well on freeways (okay, so its not a Viper...). Handles fairly well and comfortable enough (didnt buy it to be a limo...). Its a great car and looks just like a regular Civic (a plus for me).

I bought this car my senior year of high school and truly would go back and do it all over again. For my daily commute and how much i drove, the MPG and reliability were great! I get anywhere from 350 to 500 miles to the tank depending upon where i drive(city/highway) or how had on the pedal i am. I bought the car with 80,000 on the clock and now has 152,000 and have had zero issues other then regular/routine maintenance. I love this car and would recommend it to friends and family or for someones first car! I am a pretty tall guy and was a little disappointed when i first saw the car but when i got in and realized how much room i had and how comfortable it was i was amazed.

Beat the car down with miles, and it still drives great! Never had to take it to the shop or anything, besides oil changes.

I really enjoyed driving my Si. The only problem I had was a bad strut. This car is very popular with thieves so if you buy one be sure to put an alarm on it. Check the vin to make sure that the car you are looking at is really an Si. Mine was stolen twice and both times the Si specific features were taken.

  • My new ride - Its a Honda Civic! - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

Ive always heard that Honda Civics were really good reliable & economical vehicles. So I went out and bought a new 2006. Due to the gas prices & tired of sinking money into a previous vehicle that was financially sinking me under, I decided to test drive one. Low and behold, I was sold on it. The car gets up and goes for a 4- cyl. and does well on the highway as far as acceleration. I was concerned about the power changing from a 6-cyl. At least this car accepts reg. unleaded.
