Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

This car has never left me stranded, or let me down in any way. Youll never understand how great the gas mileage is until you own a civic. My civic has 170,000 miles on it and it still runs like new. Im looking into buying a brand new civic while I restore my old one. A civic is so easy and affordable to upgrade. I currently have a full body-kit, carbon-fiber spoiler, rims, euro tail lights, projecter head lights, (blue) under body lights, kenwood amps, sony sub woofer, rockford speakers, kenwood CD changer, pioneer in-dash CD with flip out moniter, playstation 2, air intake, header, cat- back exaust, and many more upgrades. I plan to tear it down, and re-build it into a true show car.

This car is simply FANTASTIC. I love every feature of it, its sexy, sporty, handles terrific, has great gas mileage and the price is fair for all the feature you get especially the EX model. It has a very strong chassis too. Once I slammed a Cadillac CTS on the back at a full 30 mph without hitting the breaks, I thought I had totaled the car, but only the bumper got scratched. INCREDIBLE. I was totally surprised by that. I think this car is definitely the best one there is out there in its category. Anyone one considering buying one, dont hesitate. Ive only done oil changes to it and its been great to me..

I spent $4000 on my 97 civic hatchback 6 months ago when it has 155,000 miles on it. Its been 6 months and it running great and the average of 320 miles per tank of gas. It does not have any problem on it. All I did is oil change. Engine is still running strong. I just love it.

This is my second Honda. I cant say enough about this car. While it could use about 25 more horsepower, it has very precise handling and has good road manners. Have had no problems with the car, just keeping up the regular maintenance. Gas mileage is great (29 city and 36-38 highway). At 63", Im corfortable in the drivers seat (and back seat to when needed), though there is not enough foot room on the front passenger side. For such a small car, the trunk is huge. I would buy another Honda after this car.

Everyone talks about how great Honda Civics are. So, I decided to buy one. I have had the car for almost 3 years and I have already had to have my dash display replaced (due to some type of a defect in this model), the motor for my fan replaced, and my trunk is broken. The car performs great, and the gas mileage is outstanding. Of course all this stuff was covered under my warranty, but it has just been an inconvenience. I was so surprised by all of this because the Civic has such a great reputation. This experience has me wanting to trade it in for a new car, not a Honda.

This car is a bad representation of what honda should be. I had an 86 prelude that was a great car , but times they are a changing. First off the body is so thin you can dent it with your thunb, the car drives ok but it rides like a big wheel. I lost the windshield at two weeks to a rock so small we didnt see it . The brakes were next at 15000 , followed by tires that you couldnt replace because they wernt avalible and now an AC.

I have enjoyed my Honda. The fuel economy has been very good. I always would like to see it do better than 35- 45/gal. It drives nice and looks cute on the road. I see a lot of them around. I am looking to trade it in for the latest Honda Civic Hybrid. I love them!

  • I Love This Car! - 2005 Honda Civic

I looked at Corollas, Scions, Mazda3. None of them offered the combination of sportiness, room, and gas mileage of the Civic Coupe. Yeah the Mazda is quicker, but the reliability and gas mileage of the Civic cant be beat. The Special Edition stereo sounds great. The sunroof switch and cruise control switch are oddly placed, but a small price to pay for the best overall package found in the Civic. Not only that, but I paid $1200.00 below the sticker price. It pays to shop around. The trunk is large for this size vehicle. Ride is quiet, road feedback is superb. Since I rarely have anyone riding in the back, I removed the rear headrests to improve visability. A fabulous car for the money.
