Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Near perfection. Highly recommended! - 2005 Honda Civic

First, let me say that I am very picky about cars and demand high quality on the purchases I make. I bought this 5 spd. Civic Hybrid about a month ago and so far it has lived up to my high expectations. I do mostly city driving and get between 50-56 MPG (make sure you inflate your tires to 35PSI to get the optimized gas mileage). The trip MPG on the dash actually under-estimates my miles per gallon by about 5 MPG. Compared to the Prius, the Civic exterior body design is more visually appealing. The quality of the seats /interior is good (the drivers seat is height- adjustable which is a plus). The manual transmission shifts extremely smoothly, much better than my prior Toyota Corolla.

Bought this car three years ago and had no problems whatsoever with the car. I only go to the dealer every 5,000 miles for the usual maintenance stuff, very reliable compact car. Averages 29-31 mpg of city driving usually around 30-32 if I dont use my AC a lot. Excellent resale value, bought this car for $15,000 and if I trade it in, it is still $12,000 just $2,000 depreciation for 3 years - not bad! Try that on other vehicles and you will really be disappointed. Runs fast, got it more than 110 mph with 5 people on the car.

  • Hybrid for sale!!!! - 2004 Honda Civic

$4300!!!! Thats the price quoted by the dealership to replace the hybrid battery if it fails after the 80K warranty. 40.4!!!! Thats my average MPG since I purchased my hybrid. Not quite 50/49 MPG. Consider the negatives before you buy a hybrid. Go for the standard engine!!!!

  • Still going Strong - 2000 Honda Civic

I felt the need to leave a review again about this amazing never die car. I am the original owner of my 2000 civi Si which is has 89,000 miles now but it is so awesome that I get great gas mileage and can still run with other cars, the only thing i have done is lower it and a little mods here and there but other than that still runs beautiful and oh yeah no probs with it either. I change the oil every 3,000 and tune-up every 30,000 and it keeps going and going and going. If you are looking at this car to buy used and u pass it up u r a fool. going on 6 years now of owning it, dont plan on selling it. if I ever do, it will be real hard! Bring the new Si. Still wont stand a chance!

  • Still the best transmission - 2009 Honda Civic
    By -

Got the dark gray color which meshes quite nicely with the Si wheels. The audio hookups are astounding - CD, XM, pc card, FM, AM, iPod, and USB key. The navigation graphics are dated (same or similar to those which debuted in 2006), but the system is integrated quite well and the information presented is all helpful. I have yet to get a single voice command to work, even after reading the manual. The engine is quite free revving and the transmission and clutch combo is sublime. It is not a particularly fast car, but the best version of a proven car with a fantastic stick.

  • Wow Honda has hit a home run with 2016 re-design - 2016 Honda Civic

Car just looks great, rides smooth and sporty. Its bigger than any past Civic so it has a decent amount of space but can still handle like a compact. Great acceleration and braking. The amount of features in the Touring model is over the top. I think Honda has just out-classed all the larger compact vehicles. Very happy so far.

  • I LOVE MY 2004 CIVIC EX COUPE - 2004 Honda Civic

I LOVE THE HONDA CIVICS BECUASE THEY ARE GOOD CARS, AFFORDABLE, AND SPORTY. WHICH EQUALS TO A LOT OF FUN. I LOVE DRIVING IT AND GETTING THE LOOKS I GET, SOMETIMES I EVEN COMPLIMENTS ABOUT MY CIVIC. I OWNED A 96 CIVIC BEFORE THIS ONE AND THEY ARE DEPENDABLE AND CUTE!

  • Honda Hybrid - 2004 Honda Civic

Not the car to get. It is nothing special and not worth the extra money espeicially when you compare it to the EX model. Does not get anywhere near the gas mileage on the sticker. The car has barely broken 32 mpg around town. If they had one of those "30 day test drive" deals, I would return it.

  • Excellent Package - 2007 Honda Civic
    By -

The car is very quick and responsive. I drive the car daily for work and have been getting 32.5 MPG since day one. The is not the fastest but definitely holds it own.
