The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Best Car in Its Class - 2004 Honda Civic
By shaggydude - June 9 - 2:00 amI just got a Magnesium Metallic 2004 Civic LX Automatic Sedan. Few things that made me buy this car: - Awesome refinement of the exterior and interior of the car. Sporty bumpers! I wont put some new skirts for a while. Blue speedometer and nice dash! Cool at night. - Built-in features: cruise control, power windows, side mirror, locks, keyless entry, cd player, window antenna - Known good resale value and reliability of Honda Cars - Most of all, got it a grand below invoice price and DC included!! alright! Do your homework! Haggle with the Internet Managers in your area. Goodluck!

Great Car - 2004 Honda Civic

Do the Right Thing - 2007 Honda Civic
By Roy - June 9 - 1:03 amThis is a nice car! Roomy, comfortable. Great ergonomics, except for the lack of automatic headlights. Sluggish pickup, but thats the price for great gas mileage. Once it gets going, its fine in traffic. XM radio is a treat, but the audio quality could be better. With my "No more blood for oil" bumper sticker, Im having fun driving in front of Hummers. And with the safety features, I dont have to be intimidated by them. Handling is good. Its a tight ride. I expect typical Honda dependability. Trunk is big enough for most uses. Bottom line: Gets me where Im going in comfort and safety, for about half the gas as my last car.

Great Value - 1995 Honda Civic
By Jami23 - June 8 - 8:59 pmI have owned my civic for 10 1/2 years. This has been one of the best purchases ever. I have had no problems with my car. The only work that has needed to be done is basic maintenance and an axle replacement. I hate to part with it but I am thinking of buying a new one.

300,000 and going - 1990 Honda Civic
By Ronald - June 8 - 1:27 amMy civic has 300,000 and its still running. Doesnt burn a single drop of oil. AC works yes I am ready for summer. Just changed the brakes will need a paint job soon. Muffler has cracked but still passed CA emissions :). I love this thing I am sure It will be a classic soon. The sunroof is nice. Put some rims and lower the car with better shocks and you got urself a very good car. Keeping it gangstar. Hella room for everything. I have the 89 civic si red like the picture. No rust so I am luckly. Its a great little car..I love it couldnt have asked for another car did I say it has 300,000 miles and still running..:)..

Fun and Stylish Car! - 2007 Honda Civic
By klm1031 - June 7 - 8:23 pmIve had my Civic for just over 1 week now, and I absolutely love it! I put on about 400 miles already and I just filled the tank for the first time yesterday. I didnt sit down to figure out the mpg but I am estimating it to be in the low 30s. That is really good considering I do more city driving than highway (about 60/40). I love the atomic blue color, I get compliments from everybody! I also love the ride, it is so smooth. I traded in a Ford Escort and this is my first new vehicle and Honda purchase. What an upgrade from a Ford. I expect this car to last pretty long. As long as I dont drive too aggressively and I get my car maintenanced on schedule, Im sure it will last.

Si = performance, handling and economy - 2007 Honda Civic
By Thunder - June 4 - 11:13 amThe split-level dash is awesome - almost like having a heads-up display. The car reads your mind on changing directions, and accelerates very un-Honda-like when desired. Its a little loud inside, and the ride is like that of a full-size truck, but overall it strikes an exceptional balance between sport and function, and gets 33 hwy MPG. In almost 8K miles so far, Ive averaged better than 30 MPG overall - amazing, as I havent babied it. The low torque (139 lb-ft) of the Si relative to turbocharged competitors was a feature, as it allows me to be far more smooth than while trying to second-guess a turbo.

Somewhat Disappointed - 2002 Honda Civic
By Kaygee - June 3 - 12:32 pmBought the car used with 34000 miles for 19 year old son. Gas mileage is big disappointment and the timing of the engine shifting seems to be off. Engine is noisy also. Tried to get an extra key made. Cost in excess of $100 because of computer chip in key cover (security feature). Also twice there has been a power interuption and had to get code from dealer to reset radio (another security feature). Battery died and could not shift car out of park to push out of garage. Will not buy another Honda because of all the security features that can be an real inconvenience to owner.
