Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Vehicle is excellent on gas compared to old suburban I was driving. Would not consider for my college bound daughter though. Was disappointed to find out that the Civic had no daytime running lights(available on Canadian models though?) nor do the doors lock automatically upon driving vehicle. During this time and age you almost consider this to be part of the package, Id rather get running lights or auto door locks over mud flaps...or pin striping

I bought the car 2 days ago,I own a rsx- s as well, which is also a great car, but i needed a car with good fuel economy since i drive 140 mi. round trip to work most days. I like leather but the cloth seats are so comfortable i could fall asleep. the clutch works great and it shifts smooth as well. I am used to a short throw transmission, but the EX is fine. The drive by wire throttle system takes some getting used to, i am not used to the rpms "hanging" while i shift, but you get used to it. so far Im at 220 mi, and i still have half a tank! Im 63 and its hard for me to see the speedo because my hand is in the way, so i adjusted the steering wheel lower.

I just sold my 93 ex with 282,000 on it. Never touched the engine and I drove the heck out of it, spent about 3,000g over 175,000. Have an accord now, would recommend an accord over a civic, much nicer ride/ comfort for very little penalty in gas consumption.

I traded in my 2000 Civic Si for the new 07 Civic Si with Nav. This car is perfect. The looks are great and it handles even better than the 2000 version. The navigation is really useful especially for people in a sales occupation. 10 out of 10 .. nothing less

  • This car is a tank. - 2004 Honda Civic

This is the most reliable little car! I love my Honda Civic--granted it isnt the quietest ride and definitely has to gather itself before accelerating on the freeway on ramp, BUT Ive had this car for many years and now at a little over 150K miles it still is the most reliable car Ive owned! Just have to check the oil every 1500 miles and its good to keep on going. They just dont make them like this one anymore! If you need a basic, simple car this is a great choice!

I absoulutly love it the gas mileage is awesome I can fill it up with 18 dollars and it will last me 2 weeks the interior is very nice and its very fun to drive I really like the face gauges they light up blue at night its pretty cool looking only bad thing is the insurence skyrockets when you get one but a honda will last you a lifetime

  • MPG and Styling - 2004 Honda Civic

I have had the car since 12/03 and am averaging 36.3 mpg per tank. I see that many of you tell of your 40+ MPG tanks and I am wondering why mine is not performing anywhere near that. Whats the deal??? Any suggestions? As for the styling, I wanted the dealer to install fog lights and a rear deck spoiler (as offered as an option in the non-hybrid Civics) but they could not do it per instruction from Honda. I purchased the spoiler myself from the dealership and installed it myself - and it looks GREAT! I will soon be looking for other Honda wheels to replace the standard wheels.

Best car Ive ever owned. Dont dislike anything. Have to beg the wife to drive it to work. Getting about 35- 40 mpg depending on how much highway. Fits the three boys (12,9,7) just fine, lots of room. Dont like automatics, thats why I gave it an 8 on performance. But it shifts smoothly. Im thinking of buying a second one for myself.

I made a point to purchase a Japanese model with a VIN that starts with a J. Paid almost full price for the 4DR EX Auto. Chosen for reputation, style, and gas mileage. It is really fun to drive and handles well. The ride is smooth and its easy to maneuver and park with great visibility. Its feels light and seems to float a little on the road but its comfortable for day trips. I was impressed at how quiet the car is while driving.
