this is an economy car? - 2003 Honda Civic
By wai2fast - April 6 - 10:00 am800 miles on the odometer and I am still smiling everytime I drive this car. The suspension is a bit harsh on NYC streets, but then again what suspension isnt in this city? Im really impressed with how the car feels so connected to the road. Ive driven other econoboxes before (Corolla, Impreza) and none of them have the same "feel". The front seats are second only to the ones found in more expensive German models.

Great car - 2003 Honda Civic
By DC kid - April 1 - 10:00 amI like my Civic EX. The car is much heavier or feels much heavier than my 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE. On those windy days I dont feel my car being pushed all over the road. The engine is very solid and reliable and there havent any problems for me to report. I love it! Also, The gas mileage is good....I generally get about 350 miles on a tank of gas, with gas prices being $1.49.

Hybrid - A Great Car - 2003 Honda Civic
By emcclend - March 18 - 10:00 amCar sales are slow, the buyer can make incredible deals. Edmunds TMV is the sticker price. I purchased this car for about $1700 less than sticker. I got price quotes from 4 dealers in the DFW area (there are @30 dealers in this area). After visiting each of the four dealerships, I sent an email out with the best offers to all 4. Within hours of the email, I got competitive responses from 3 of the dealers. The 4th dealer did not even try to compete and would only go as "low" as the sticker price. It has plenty of power and rides great on the interstate. I drive 50 miles one way to work and the car rides smoothly, and has great visibility.

a LOT of car for the money - 2003 Honda Civic
By GregSi - February 17 - 10:00 amI dont mind that this car is not popular because I got mine for $15.6K ... nearly $4K off sticker. The engine is peppy , but could benefit from an extra 20 hp or so. The rally- style shifter, although weird initially, has become intuitive now. Close gear ratios make for fun driving, but a sixth gear is needed for highway crusing (4K rpm at 75 mph). This car is a blast to toss around, but the wheel/tire combination leaves much to be desired. Suspension is a bit bouncy, but well mannered when taking corners at speed. Aftermarket suspension and wheels/tires are a must, in my opinion. Also, the tranny doesnt like 1-2 shifts after a while.

Great buy - 2003 Honda Civic
By DjY887 - February 2 - 5:16 amI purchased mine in Aug 2004 with only 3400 miles on it. Excellent choice for my 40 mile highway commute. Im seeing a steady 38 mpg. Very happy to find a car w/o AC or electric windows..always a costly maintenance issue. Excellent build quality inside and out. Fun to drive. I gave up the utility of a Ford Ranger for the economy and reliability..absolutley no regrets. I would like to see the sedan get the HX package
