Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Fun but.... - 2006 Honda Civic
By Si dave - August 11 - 8:00 amMy honda civic is fun, fast and can handle the road like it was on railroad tracks! The only complaints i have with the car is rattling in the engine above 6,000 rpms in which i was told was the heat sheild. Also, on the inside of the car the two panels that run parallel with the windshield vibrate. Although the car is everything i wanted and expected i wish the dealer could fix these two minor problems( but they drive me insane). If anyone could give me an alternate reason to the rattling in the engine it would greatly appreciated.

Civic Hybrid CVT - 2005 Honda Civic
By Frank - August 8 - 10:43 amI expected much less performance and was nicley surprised with its spunkiness. A joy to drive, quick steering and comes with all the nice stuff at no extra cost. It is a solid car that is nicely put together. When you close the door it sounds good. I like the sound system, the electric mirrors aand the way it doesnt sound when stopped at a red light. My other cars are sitting around gathering dust because this beauty gets me 600 miles on a tank of gas. Love it.

Transmission - 2003 Honda Civic
By James E. Veitch - August 4 - 11:10 amMake sure to check transmission every 25,000 miles. Mine went out at 140,000 Mi. Honda doesnt stock them one week to a month to get a replacement. They do not rebuild CVT transmissions, $3,000.00 to replace and $375.00 shipping. Front struts also go out easily.

Fun for $14,000 / Cheap to Own. - 2005 Honda Civic
By Blake - August 3 - 9:36 pmI think if you are looking at a compact car that gets great gas mileage, you have to check out the Civic. It is reliable, fun, and nice for the price. I think you will be surprised with what you get for what you pay. The LX has all the stuff you need. A/C, CC, PW, PD, CD, keyless entry.

Just sold it and now miss it! - 1995 Honda Civic
By Idahoaggie98 - August 3 - 3:47 pmWe just bought a 2003 Honda Odyssey because we simply outgrew the smaller civic. Its been my wifes car for almost 7 years. We have never had any problems. The interior held up extremely well. I loved the way it handled. After 120,000 miles, everything worked and the car almost looked like new when we sold it.

Sporty Sophicticated Rice Rocket - 2003 Honda Civic
By RacerDave - August 3 - 10:00 amFinally the hatch is back, with the added convinience of a beefy engine powerplant. This car likes to be reved up and kept up there, afterall thats when it all comes to live. Hit 5000rpm and the beauty of Hondas i-VTEC propels you to the end of the rpm red line. Nice little car, but a bit pricey for what it is, no wonder people opt to pay a couple of thou more and get the Acura RSX.

Love it - 2006 Honda Civic
By Jaime - August 3 - 3:53 amLike all Hondas, my Civic Hybird has proven both fun and reliable. Its engine is both smooth and Peppy. Fit and finish is top notch. I have averaged about 41 MPG, which is way above the curve for most cars, but way below the rating on the sticker. I love it anyway. I would recommend it to all who ask.

Still goin ( like energizer bunny ) - 2000 Honda Civic
By daily commuter - August 1 - 3:31 pmHad this car going on 2 yrs. Ive put 26,000 miles on it so far. Its never let me down mechanically. I had to replace all four tires and have a 4-wheel alignment at 54k. I have to say, that really improved the gas mileage. I have oil changed at 3k mile intervals. Gas mileage is great (with reg going for $3.20 a gal, its a must ). The A/C blows very cold ( its about 100 degrees as I write this ). I dont think this car will ever die (knock on wood). Would definitely consider a new Civic with the improvements that have been made.
