Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

A really wonderful car - 2000 Honda Civic
By NoMoneyCollegeBoy - August 31 - 10:00 amI bought this car for Hondas well- known reliability, the 4-door practicality, and the gas mileage. And so far, it has more than lived up to all of my expectations. I really love this car. I have the 5-speed trans, and I average about 29 mpg in the city (even with a little bit of a lead foot). The car has just turned over 38000 miles, and the only squeak on the whole car is in the rear-suspension when I back out of my driveway. Its so much better than any other american- made car I have owned. I will forever recommend Honda/Toyota/Nissan cars to anybody.

2006 Civic Si - Impressed - 2006 Honda Civic
By Macydog - August 31 - 9:33 amBest car I have ever owned let alone driven. Interior style, look and quality is that of a $35K car. 6 speed shifts like butter, clutch is perfect. Car launches like a rocket and when you hit 6,000 RPMs hold on tight because it will scream right up to 8,000 in every gear. Raced some 2006 3.5 Liter Altimas from rolling at 40 and I could barely see them in my rear view mirror at 110 mph. Honda has built a dream.

Bad Fuel Economy - 2007 Honda Civic
By degraff - August 28 - 10:50 pmCar drives and runs great. Good handling. The only issue I have is with the fuel economy. No matter how I drive I only get between 25-29 MPG now. This is not even near the 30-40 MPG sticker amounts. I was getting 33 MPG when I bought the car.

A gentle, smooth and responsive car. - 2004 Honda Civic
By Harold Trautma - August 28 - 10:00 amOutstanding appearance has brought many positive comments from others. Everything works and there are no rattles. Severe bumps give a mild thud rather than a bang and crackle. Steering excelent, responsive and easy. Very good radio with high frequency units up at ear level that is nice for one with a hearing deficit. Interior is larger than I expected and a big trunk space. Engine is very quiet with a very smooth idle.
