Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

This is my first time buying a Honda Civic. I have a silver exterior with gray interior. The ride is smooth, I can not hear the engine running, roomy in front and back, love features such as MP3 player, heated seats, moonroof and seat elevation for driver side. For me being 52 and 110 pounds, this is the right size car for me. I just need to get used to the steering and controlling the vehicle. the only problem I have with this car for now, when I have my sunroof open in the highway, the car seem to swerve a bit so I have to close my sunroof a little bit. It seems to swerve once in awhile. What it needs it VSA!

Ive been driving Ford SUVs for over 20 years and with the crazy fuel prices I decided to go back to driving a car. After getting in the drivers seat, I wish I had made my decision to buy sooner! Once seated, you feel like youre in a sports car, the seat fits just right and the tilt/telescopic steering wheel adjusts perfectly! On the road the Civic is responsive and is very nimble in its handling. Having the audio and cruise controls on the wheel is great, everything is at hand and in sight. Speaking of sight, the instrument panel is in plain view, nothing is obstructed. My combined MPG is 34 and climbing. IMO Honda has done an outstanding job w/ quality and ergonomics. GREAT JOB HONDA!!

  • Mostly great, but one concern - 2005 Honda Civic

Ive owned my 05 civic hybrid for about three months now, and for the most part, I love it. Very comfy, great console layout, roomy. The mileage isnt what was advertised, but Im still averaging 39mph, which is great. The one issue I have is parking on hills. If the car is facing downhill, reversing up the hill to park is very tricky at first (I discovered this the hard way). Ive found I have to use the emergency brake and rev up until the car gets out of Auto Stop, and only then does the car have the power to back up. Other than that and less pickup than Id like (plus, the addition of a sun/moonroof would be nice, but thats minor), its a solid car.

  • Reliable Honda - not the best design - 1992 Honda Civic

What can I say? We are a Honda family. We have found them to be very reliable, and this was no exception. Over the course of two years that I drove the car (inherited it from my wife) we spent an average of $62 per month, including all oil changes and servicing. Not bad when you consider what a normal car payment would be. The reliability of the engine is great, the starter on these is bad. They will often times not start on particularly hot and humid days. But give it five minutes and it will turn right over. A problem with the main relay on the starter. Also, I never liked the side mounted door handles, and the cup holders are a false sense of security - youd be better off not using them.

  • Fun and Functional! - 2004 Honda Civic

Commuting 150 miles each day, I drive in both heavy traffic and winding country roads. The Civic makes it all a joy! The transmission is very smooth, the interior is very comfortable and quiet, and the mileage is as stated on the sticker! The clutch is soft and easily held down in traffic, and the 5-speed makes country roads a blast to drive! Plenty of power, and nice ammenities for a small car. On weekends, I dont have to run errands anymore because my friends run them for me, just to drive the car!!!

  • Gotta love this coupe - 2001 Honda Civic

This was my first new car. This car has never given us trouble, is a breeze to drive, and we still get compliments on the looks of it even though we havent made any modifications. We get about 34 mpg, which made our trips to Nova Scotia, Niagra Falls, and Florida more affordable.

  • Good little car - 2007 Honda Civic

Good car fun to drive love it and love the looks I get in it. Im 23 years old first car I have bought, not gonna mod it out. But have replaced intake with Injen Cold air intake and put in my own diamond mesh grill. Good car would recommend for anyone. Only problem is there needs to be more power, other cars in its class have more power, cobalt SS turbo is around 260 hp, and lancer ralliart is around 237 hp. only car it really beats out in its class is the Nissan Sentra R. Sound system is good but subwoofer and interior is great but it attracts lint like no other.

I bought this car for $350.00 with 191,000 miles. It has hail damage, some rust, and, as the sellers ad said, is not much to look at. BUT. It runs very well, gets amazing gas mileage (42 highway), and has been totally reliable to date. Performance- wise it is nothing to write home about- -as Rolls used to say when asked how many horsepower their cars have, they would reply "Adequate." So it is with the Civic. The interior has aged fairly well, though the body less so. And everything still works! All in all, a solid little commuter car that is as close to free to drive as you can get.

  • Love my Civic Hybrid - 2005 Honda Civic

I love this car! I traded in my 6 cylinder Toyota Truck for this very fuel efficient & sporty Civic. People cant believe that its a hybrid - it looks just like a regular car! I am also finding that people dont understand that hybrids dont need to be plugged in .. ever. They create their own charge while coasting and braking. I really do get 45-50 mpg, even on stop-and-go LA freeways. While the engine is a 4 cylinder, the electrical assist kicks in when I need it to provide extra power for acceleration. Really the only times I know Im in a hybrid is when I am sitting at a stop light and the engine has automatically turned off- and of course when I am filling up the tank.
