Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Very reliable but could use more power - 2005 Honda Civic

Ok 6000 miles later here is my take on this coming from a Celica and a Civic Si. I definitely had to get use to less pep for starters the interior buid is ok but still missing something (dash is a little too dull + very mass production feel). Gas mileage is decent 30 miles per gallon. Rear spolier option for around $500 adds some appeal. Ok enough about the bad... The good is resale value, reliability, low APR financing, value priced and the fact that you dont have to choose from a billion options. Like with the Toyota where every thing on the car is extra. Honda does a great job by grouping their upgrades in packages - DX, LX, and EX. Overall a good buy but could be better

I like the way it handles. I like the braking. The new dash is a big improvement. It is a real fun car to drive. Honda has done an excellent job and done it with quality.

  • I love my Hatchback Sport Manual - 2017 Honda Civic

Very impressive car! I have had cars that triple the price and I am impressed! It feels quick, stable around corners. 90 mph on the highway is rock solid. It is really a Fun car! Years back I read something true. It is funner to drive a slow car fast, rather than a fast car slow. Only negative, the mirrors create a good amount or wind noise at speed. The plastic handles to close the trunk are really plastic and delicate.

I put a lot of miles on any car and purchased soley on the gas mileage. Traded in my Element which now I wish I still had. After driving the Civic for 9 months now, I am not so thrilled. Gas mileage average 38-42 mph, but the car is not comfortable at all. The seats are hard and very limited adjustments to try and make them comfortable. No cup holders in back or arm rest in back. What was Honda thinking. Basically, I feel this is a way overpriced commuting machine. Not kid friendly, not long trip friendly. Honda also falls short in the "fun to drive" catagory. Corners horrribly, tire squeal. Listen, I dont drive like Mario Andretti. I was suprised at the poor handling.

  • Loving my coupe...the green machine! - 2016 Honda Civic

I am truly amazed at the improvements over the last generation! This car swayed me from an Audi A3. It is classy, refined, agile and quiet. I chose the LX because it has all the features i need without alot of fluff. It has loads of technology, even in the base model. I love how it handles and the Sport mode gives the engine a nice growl! There are discounts on this hot coupe, so haggle when you purchase! The only changes might be adding sport paddle shifters ( a little inconvenient shifting from sport to drive mode) and making mud flaps standard to keep my beauty clean! (I am adding them myself, as I bought them with the car and did not want to pay for installation. )

Its pretty gutless and the clutch has some issues. I have the EX with VTECH For the price I wish it was a little better. Runs great Sunroof button is in a stupid spot and the sunroof doesnt go all the way back. Radio is pretty cheesy for "high quality"

I bought it new in 99 and it continues to get the job done with only a few minor repairs along the way. It is not powerful but with a manual transmission it can get out of its own way. The lacks of power is made up for with MPGs. It is sporty for an economy car, looks good inside & out, and is well built-- it doesnt feel cheap. The folding rear seat makes it suprisingly useful, I can put my mountain bike in the back and even Home Depot trips. Its good in the snow with low torque & FWD- decent all season tires have gotten me through several bad NJ winters Drawbacks: wind & road noise, reverse hard to engage, weak A/C, takes forever to warm up in the cold, unsupportive seats

I am very happy with my new 06 Honda Civic EX coupe! I traded in my 98 Civic DX for this car and am very pleased so far. It is fun to drive; handles very smooth and quiet. I was a little hesistant about Hondas changes to the civic when I first saw the pictures. But seeing it in person and driving it made up my mind this was the car I wanted. Honda also has a strong reputation for quality and long lasting, dependable cars. I liked my 98 Civic and decided I wanted to stay with a Honda for my next vehicle. In my opinion, the new dash design is ok and looks cool all lit up in the dark; but I would just as soon have a traditional speedometer instead of the digital.
