Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • There is nothing better than this!!! - 2004 Honda Civic

I have owned a BMW before I can attest to the fact having a reliable car is more important than having an fancier car. This car is a very simple car thus everything works as advertised. I have owned this car for almost 3-yrs now and I havent had a single mechanical problem. Also trade-in value of this car is about $11000 even though I only paid $14500 for it about 3-yrs ago. This is not a performance car but it is an everyday winner. You can easily own this car for 10-yr worry free with regular interval oil-change and stuff. Just remember Hondas specialty is engines and these things live forever. I just love Hondas.

I have Civic Ex for 2 years. It looks beautiful and still people check my car out sometimes.(only has full nose mask and tinned)It is much bigger than it looks inside. Back seat space also fairly enough. Gas mileage is great. Run over 400 miles. 6 speakers Sound system is Nice. ABS is Good to have. However, I have side air bag light turnned on sometimes, so I have to adjust passenger seat. And battery went off when it was 2 months. After recharged it, no longer problem. overall, it is Nice car to drive.

A Honda Civic is a good economic car for a student. It has good gas mileage and I have not had any problems with it besides the crappy Firestone tires that came with it.

Ive had my 2003 Honda Civic since November 2002. The pick up isnt as fast as I expected from a vtec engine. Its an attractive car and in general is the car is overall a good package. The price is good and the car is very reliable

  • The One Year Review of the Civic Hybrid - 2003 Honda Civic

Ive owned my hybrid for just over a year now. With the honeymoon phase over, I still enjoy my hybrid. Ive not had a single problem with it. Ive averaged almost 53 mpg (calc). After 8K, the mpgs jumped some, so hang in there, folks. I have very similar feelings about the car as others, so Id just like to add that this is an economy car. Dont expect leather, GPS units, entertainment packages, power seats, etc, etc. I do think it has a nice array of features, though, and ones that youll use the most. Also, remember that Honda doesnt have anything to do with the EPA estimates-- although they do promote them in their ads.

  • I love my new hybrid! - 2006 Honda Civic

I bought my 2006 civic recently and I think its great. It sips gas, its zippy and I enjoy the small refinements Honda has made since my 2003 30th anniversary edition Civic. I never get tired of watching the engine tach go to zero when I come to a stop, and I have had no problems with any of my previous Civics, so Im expecting the same with this one. The only thing Id like to see is the GPS package available in Canada - its not even an option, which is too bad cause I would have gotten one for sure.

  • 05 Civic LX - 2005 Honda Civic
    By -

I purchased a 05 Civic LX with the 5-speed about a week ago. I really enjoy it, but if you can afford it go with the EX for the extra power. They get equal fuel economy, but at a $3K premium it might be worth it. My LX is ok but I do long for the V-TEC, and the moonroof. I would recomend the Honda service plan. It cost me $1K but is bumper to bumper for 5 years or 100K miles. The coupe is a lot of fun to drive, it is sporty but a little under powered. This is the second Honda I have owned, and have nothing but good things to say. Very reliable, and very good with resale price. Check your insurance rates before you buy. There are a lot of security features i.e. computer chip in the keys.

  • Great Look, Ride and MPGs - 2007 Honda Civic
    By -

I am 41 yrs old and purchased my Civic 1 year ago yesterday and it is the best car Ive owned. I drive 75 to 80 highway miles to work each day and truly enjoy the ride and definitely the fuel economy. I travel above the speed limit and still average above 32 mpg and when I decide to take it easy, it averages around 36-38 mpg. The Bridgestone tires are not as bad as some may believe, I have 26K on the factory set and have rotated at every oil change (every 8,200k) and they still look to have at least 50% tread remaining. The 1.8 L engine provides great economy, a quiet ride and will surprise you on the open road as to how fast you approach that third digit on the speedometer.

  • 2002 Civic Complaint - 2002 Honda Civic
    By -

We did not purchase the extended warranty at time of purchase the reason is I spoke to past customer and did research and I was comfortible with my finding. Current I am very disappointed the clutch has burned out in the tranmission. The mechanic stated this in a common problem with Honda Civic and he currently have two in his shop with the same problem. This seems to be a hardship and Honda need to evaluate this closely.
