Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Back breaking drive, poor visibility... - 2009 Honda Civic

I have the car now for 3 months, fuel economy exceeds the sticker rating. On the down side you have to be careful when stopping, at low speeds it surges and I would find it difficult to park in a tight spot. I finally got to go on a trip, I- 84 with its ups and downs, the gas engine strains trying to do 65 up some of the hills, its no power house. And my back was sore after a 300 mile trip, gosh when I go to FL in fall I will need dr to work on my back, I guess its a car for the younger set, I am 63 and went from a CRV to this. On the plus side it uses half the gas the CRV did. Its too bad Honda cant find a better place for the batteries, I miss the fold down back seats.

  • Best of current alternatives - 2012 Honda Civic

If you are looking for a state of the art vehicle for the early 21st century, this is the best of all current alternatives. Reasonably comfortable, roomy and well designed, with excellent engineering and attractive interiors, it is difficult to argue that any other 4 door sedan would be superior. Even though a 2012 model, dealer provided discount, good trade in value and .09% 5 year financing. It is difficult to comprehend the criticism of this vehicle. If you want a sports car, buy a Miata or a Ferrari. If you want comfortable, dependable and reasonably roomy transportation with a good list of features such as bluetooth and a sunroof, AND great fuel efficiency and reliability, buy a Civic.

  • A Little More Than You Think. Need More - 2003 Honda Civic

My first Civic purchase and Im enjoying it. The ride and handling are far better than the Lx, Ex line and the interior is as attractive/comfortable as youll find in a twenty thousand or less car.

I BOUGHT MY CIVIC WITH 8K MILES, I COULDNT HAVE BOUGHT A BETTER CAR FOR THE PRICE. IT IS THE PERFECT CAR FOR A STUDENT WITH MANY BILLS TO PAY AND NOT MUCH TIME TO DEAL WITH CAR REPAIRS. ALSO, I LOVE THE WAY IT LOOKS...ADORABLE!

  • A car for those who dont really care. - 2001 Honda Civic

High quality appliance. Gets you from point A to Point B very reliably. About as much fun as an elevator ride.

  • great car! - 2000 Honda Civic

I have had it for a year and I have saved lots of money on gas. I have only had to do normal maintenance on it! I have peaked up to 46 miles a gallon, but stay around 39-44. (I dont pass 2500 rpms) It has treated me very well and hasnt hurt my pocket book too bad. I would recommend the standard only, it has saved me from a few tight spots that an automatic wouldnt. It has a weak engine, but it is easy to manipulate with a standard and handles well. Remember though, this is a compact so it isnt the smoothest ride nor the roomiest, but I dont mind it.

  • I just love it! - 2006 Honda Civic

I looked at the Mazda3, the Tc and the Civic. The quality of the Civic was what got me. It felt like a baby Lexus inside. I would rather have had amber illumination for the instrument panel and the drivers seat is too big for my 51" frame. The lumbar support is way too high and the head rest is too far forward but I love the manual pump lever to raise the seat and all of the nook and crannies are excellent! I wish for an outside temp, but the dash controls for the stereo and the air are beautiful. The ivory interior is stunning with the varying shades of ivory - very classy. The lines of the exterior are so fresh. Mighty peppy too. I wish I had farther to drive to work! Fun!!!!!!!!

What a great car and so different from the previous model. Its so quiet but still has that sporty feeling. I love it and wonder why I dont see more on the road.

Doesnt quite get the mileage "promised," but even though I drive it every day, Ive only filled it five times since I bought it - almost four months ago!

I really like this car. I am getting 31 miles to the gallon, and it is really comfortable for a civic. The seats are quite nice. the styling rocks.
