Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Usually spending 200 USD/YEAR for repairing. It was eating 10 liters/ 100 km in city.

  • Honda Civic will stay with us - 1999 Honda Civic

Weve owned 8 new Honda vehicles over many years. Right now we own a 2002 CRV and our trusty 1999 Civic with 105,000 miles on the odometer. This Civic runs as well now as it day on day of delivery and we are constantly amazed at the high quality of Honda products. Although we really like the new 2007 Civic, we cannot think of one reason to let our 1999 go. We change the oil(s) and do regular maintenance on this Honda as weve done on all of our others which have NEVER failed us.

I have tried hard to find fault with this car and cant. It is very fun to drive and I am getting 30mpg in the city. The two tier instrument panel is awesome. Most people who have looked at it ask if this is a Hybrid, I guess because the dash looks so unique. I have no issues with the "blind" spots others have reported. The cup holders are the best Ive ever seen but I will probably not enjoy cleaning them out. The cruise control works very good and the speeds dont waiver up and down hills like others Ive had. The steering wheel is simply a work of art and just feels good in your hands. The power steering is perfect too and is easy to park with one hand. Great car with awesome looks!

I just love my new Honda. It is quiet and very roomy. The gas mileage is great.40 miles per gallon. A real plus with the price of gas!It has a nice style that looks expensive, but really was reasonable.I`ll enjoy it for many years to come. The salesman was very straightforward and didn`t pressure me.I had done my homework and had a good idea of what I wanted. I`d recommend the Honda Civic to anyone who likes a great car that performs well for a reasonable price.

And it was still running strong though there was an ominous noise emanating from deep in the engine. Also the tires were low on tread. Otherwise everything was fine, original clutch, no rust, good suspension, working AC, shiny paint. It was a great car and I miss it already. Would have bought a new civic but I needed a sturdy roof to carry sea kayaks. Ended up buying a Subaru Forester.

  • I highly recommend Hondas - 1991 Honda Civic

I bought it from a friend of mine, who only used it for long trips on the east coast. It had no rust and under 100 thousand miles on it. A year later it has 150 thousand miles, and still runs strong. its fun, sporty, can carry heavy loads and has never broken down on me. I had the oil changed at Walmart, they never put new oil in it. I ran it unwittingly for 2 months before I realized the problem, and its never suffered or seized. My mother had a 1986 Honda Prelude, spun it, rolled it and still drove it home. that car died out at 300 thousand miles! theyre easy to fix, parts are easy to find and they are exceptionally cheap to maintain. Ive done most of the work on mine, myself.

  • Civic Si (K20a3) - 2002 Honda Civic

People may bash it for its styling, but over all the civic si is a great car. Its very comfortable, has a very good sound system, does great gas mileage (if you drive it nice) and it was a extremely powerful heater! Mine is the "mustard" gold color and man does it turn some heads. People think that the "Dash Shifter" is ridiculous but it is honestly very comfortable to use when driving. Its got more than enough power for you to have fun with. Although it doesnt have "True Vtec" its i-vtec design is very good giving the car good power in all gears. No need to down-shift from 5th on the highway to pass someone, it still pulls like a train giving you easily enough power to pass something.

  • Its a beautiful life - 1999 Honda Civic

This car is very fun to drive and the motor can handle high revs much better than most cars. I put an aem cold air intake and once you hit 5500 rpms the vtec is deafining (its the most unbelievable thrill especially going through tunnels where it echoes). Very fast for 1.6 liters, handling is wonderful, and performance overall is unbeatable when you think about the gas mileage you get and the price of the car. and after 3 years, they are still selling for more than $14000, they really hold their value

  • Learning to Love My EX - 2005 Honda Civic
    By -

Just got my new 2005 EX sedan this weekend. Had to get rid of my gas guzzler as I drive 45 miles to work. I like the car so far. Road noise is a bit excessive. But the car is tight and fun to drive. Build quality is great as I have not found a single defect. I need to drive this car about 200K miles to get my money out of it. So it better last! I live on a dirt road so we will see if it holds up.
