Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I bought this car after owning an Acura and absoltely love it! Its been nothng but wonderful. It gets great gas mileage and has never given me a problem. I bring it in every 3000 miles for an oil change and take it once a year for a tune up. I would recommend to anyone who wants a reliable, fun to drive, and easy to maintain car!

We used to be brutalized on gas costs for long trips with our Dodge Ram Van. This vehicle has the pep, room and gas mileage that is just excellent for its size. I made an 800 mile trip from NJ to South Carolina on 17 gallons of gas. It is not unusual to get 500/540 miles safely from 1 tank. The government tax incentive of 1500 dollars was nice too. I am going to save a fortune in gas costs in the coming years. I also purchased the bumper to bumper 10 year warrantee. I figured the tax incentive was a fair exchange. Get this car and become part of the solution to global warming, pollution, rising gas costs and have a little fun with the science of the law of conservation of energy.

This is my 3rd Civic and Hknda is the best. If it was just me I would keep it! I now have grand babies and its difficult to get a car seat in and out of a 2 door so Ill. Trading it in. Just need more room. Gonna miss it.

The car is decent, but doee not live up to expectations. I get around 35mpg city and 38-42mpg highway. My brother get 40mpg on average with the non- hybrid version. The hybridness on this case is not on par with Toyotas technology. I find several aspects of the car annoying. The transition from engine off to on causes the car to kick too much. The brakes will often slip when transitioning between friction brakes and electric brakes. On the reliability issue my windshield wipers recently refused to turn off (@ 17000 miles.) To summarize I would get the non- hybrid version.

  • Slightly biased opinion ... - 2004 Honda Civic

Im a bit biased since Ive owned several Honda vehicles previously but ... so far, its been a joy to drive. Ive always loved the soft clutch on Honda cars, theres enough zip in the engine for most purposes, handling and ride are great, and its hard to beat the mpg. Its more expensive than the competitors but its worth it--just make sure you pit one dealership to another for best price. I think EX is worth the price especially if you can get it for around $16K (dealer invoice).

  • 6 month review - 2006 Honda Civic

Now that I have been driving it for 6 months and the weather is getting colder I thought Id share that the gas mileage has gone down from 47 mpg to 42 mpg. Also some of the cheap plastic parts (hand emergency brake) paint is chipping. Keep in my though that I drive every day in stop and go traffic and I heard that gas mileage does drop on these hybrids when it gets cold. I still love my climate control, sound system and navigational system.

I couldnt be happier with my new Civic. It is a fun car to drive and am averaging a little over 30 mpg in combined city and highway driving. The cocpit ergonomics are superb. Everything is within reach and have good feel. The two tier instument panel works great. There is no need to take your eyes off the road to check your speed. Although much has been written about intrusive road noise, it is not a major problem nor a significant annoyance. There is practically no wind noise. As stated in the beginning, "I couldnt be happier."

  • great car but... - 2007 Honda Civic

Have two 2007 Honda Civics. They run great and get great mileage. The only drawbacks are the front windshield is impossible to clean as the dash barely leaves any room on the driver side. The head restraints can be irritating at first if you lean back in the seat. After a month of constantly bumping the back of your head you learn to sit up straight. The car is great around town but is not the most comfortable on long trips. Car has been wonderful other than that.

  • Great car in any price range. - 2007 Honda Civic

This car is for my wife, she wanted an automatic 2 door that was fun and easy to drive. After test driving Mazda’s 3, it was obvious to us that the Civic was a better product, we put our order in for an Atomic Blue EX with Navi and got it 2.5 months later. This car is very nice, the short wheelbase is noticeable, but not annoying. The suspension and steering is tight and precise. It is very easy to drive, and backup, blind spots are minimal. The blue lights of the split dash are easy on the eyes, and the navigation system is simple to use and operate. This car has made me consider a Si for myself.
