Well, what can I say kids? Its definitely not an Accord, not in its/my wildest dreams. I drove an Accord EX for 6 years and never thought I liked the car all that much. As a matter of fact, I used to refer to it as the most boring car on the road. What I wouldnt give for an Accord EX now! The Civic EX is a fine car; but after driving a V6, I just cant get used to feeling like Im driving the little engine that keeps telling itself, "I think I can, I think I can," at the slightest incline, during merging on to the highway, or changing lanes. Ive put 5000 miles on my Civic since I bought it 2 months ago. I will not be driving this car 6 years from now like I did my 98 Accord EX.

I like the gas mileage, although I wonder if I shouldnt have purchased a hybrid since the gas prices are soaring. The car has an appealing design and its comfortable and dependable.

  • Never buy gas again! - 2005 Honda Civic

I am extremely satisfied with this car. In California, I can drive in the carpool lanes by myself and park at parking meters for free. The single greatest feature of this car is home refueling. With the Phill compressor in my garage, I never have to go to the gas station again. Its also the lowest emission internal combustion engine ever made. Its very good for the environment and easy on your wallet too.

Traded in my 2002 Mazda Protege ES for a car with superior mileage. Was not disappointed. I get combined highway/city mileage of 38 to a gallon, which is about 13 miles more than my earlier car. Thought about the hybrid at first, found it difficult to justify the higher price in comparison to the gasoline engine. I paid 16,250 and get 38 to a gallon, the hybrid I would have to pay $3K more for 7 more miles per gallon. You do the math.

I bought the civic 05 LX in Dec 04. Felt so good driving it until I got into accident. I was driving my civic on 81S PA 7am got into accident, ran on black ice lost control completely flipped over twice, felt down and hit the mountain. Weather condition seem fair while driving, just started snowing. The civic was totalled by all passengers were fine with seat belts on. I was injured by the broken glasses because I was wearing t-shirt. The airbags came out but didnt feel it during the accident. CD player still working after the accident. Second accident with my sisters civic (SAME MODEL), lost control on snowy part of the road, I was able to control but totally freak out driving civic now.

  • Civic is great for long commutes - 2005 Honda Civic

I drive 500 miles per week toundtrip to and from work. The Civic is the perfect car for long commutes, with its excellent gas mileage (I get 39 mpg highway), and second to none reliability.

  • Excellant purchase!!! - 2005 Honda Civic

I bought mine used at ~111k, and I have put another 100k on it in four years. This has been a fantastic and reliable runner, it is easy to work on, takes nearly no maintenance, is very economical to own and operate, and with the 5 speed manual transmission, is a lot of fun. Highly recommended to anyone who wants something that is sound, cheap, and fun. I am very satisfied, and plan to run this one until life dictates I need something different, or until the wheels come off this one (but lets be real, I wont live that long!). Not recommended for a family car, or for those who have a hard time getting in and out, or those who haul a lot of bulky cargo, and no, it is not the best suspension, biggest motor, fastest car, however --- thats not why anyone buys a Honda Civic... It will (and has) hold up very well for commuting, travel, everyday use, work, fun, college, grad school and about anything else that you can throw at it. And good god it is nimble!

  • My 2nd Civic - 2005 Honda Civic

I love the car. When Honda called doing a survey after I purchased it they asked what influenced me buying my car more than anything else. My answer was my last civic, it is a 1990 model with 331,000 miles on the original drive train and I still use it as my daily driver. The only complaint I have with the new car is that the driver side door pull should of been angled up more toward the window (as is the passenger side pull) as it interferes with side leg room by as much as 3 1/2 inches compared to the older civic and the lack of being able to spread your legs is quite noticeable. In my opinion if its a Honda you cant go wrong, best car I have ever owned and the only one I considered buying.

  • Civic Hybrid AT-PZEV Engine - 2005 Honda Civic

Just purchased it, ride is smooth and quiet for a little car. More headroom than I expected, interior is def. Honda, i.e. plain, but thats OK. Display is nice with MPG per trip and the IMA battery charging/assist meter is nice. Could use more torque but not sure where it would come from, but considering rising gas prices, it is a great car! Hybrid model includes side airbags and ABS.
