In typical Honda fashion, the Civic receives a number of minor changes this year in order to keep it fresh. For the coupe and sedan, there's new exterior styling, including restyling for the front and rear bumpers, hood, headlights and grille. Inside, the audio speakers have been upgraded, extra sound deadening material has been added and floor mats are now standard in the LX and EX. The LX trim has slightly bigger wheels this year (15 inches) and standard keyless entry. A new value package contains air conditioning, a CD player and a new center console. For the Si hatchback, there are new headlight and taillight designs, larger 16-inch wheels and flashier interior trim. Like the regular sedan, the Civic Hybrid has updated styling, standard floor mats and improved speakers. It also has a new interior console with an armrest, adjustable rear headrests and a manual driver-seat height adjuster. Finally, all 2004 Honda Civic sedans and coupes have a new seatbelt reminder system.

Better than a hybrid? - 2004 Honda Civic
By CO Guy - October 14 - 10:00 amTypical Honda build; tight, all controls feel right, smooth and quiet engine, snappy handling and ride. Not a sports car, but very fun to drive nonetheless. Much better power at altitude than the hybrid, particularly on extended grades. Has all the features you really need and none of the silly fluff you dont. Five speed is fun and shifts great. Highly recommended if youre thinking of a 2- door Civic, no sacrifices and amazing mileage. Why do people need more car than this??

Very practical car - 2004 Honda Civic
By gjman - September 6 - 2:00 amThe only reason why its not rated high on the Fun to Drive is coz I am moving to a civic from a jetta turbo and compared to Jetta 1.8T the Civic is quite torqueless. But I didnt buy it for its sportiness. I bought it for its realiablity, fuel economy and overall functionality. Its a very practical car...far more practical than out Jetta, far more reliable than the Jetta and far more fuel efficient too.

Fun to drive! - 2004 Honda Civic
By Crash1207 - September 6 - 2:00 amI bought the Civic Si after also looking at the Nissan SPEC V and the Mazda3. I cant really pinpoint the exact reason I chose the Honda, it just felt better. Ive had the car for two weeks now and it is running great. Im not seeing the fuel economy yet but that will come in time. The only blip Ive found so far is that the visor on the passenger side vibrates and is noisy at around 45+ mph. The factory stereo leaves A LOT to be desired.

It has great handling and lots of take off power for a four cylinder car. 50000 miles and still not a problem with it at all. remember routine maintaince is important to a long live of the honda.

Hybird reality - 2004 Honda Civic
By Gary Scalzo - September 1 - 10:00 amThe Honda civic hybrid fule fact for my civic is city and highway combined 37mpg. I have driven the car less than 200 miles and probably very close to 50- 50 city vrs. highway miles. It takes a bit of getting use to the hybird technology as the car shuts down at most stops. The Civic is remarkably quiet. also it has a great standard packsage, A.C., cruse control, CD am fm sterio. Some folks may like the lighted dash information stystem that includes a tac, odomitor, battery status and other things. I find it a bit distracting with all the flashing and moving lights. It is a great car for those that have concerned about consumption and enviormental issues.

Very happy owner - 2004 Honda Civic

The only problems I have had are that my daughter gets it dirty, my wife keeps torquing her foot and taking off the rubber brake pedal pad, and my battery for remote entry wore out. It runs like a dream, the shifting is smooth and easy, and it has a well-built feeling. The doors shut well, all the movable parts have a smooth firm action. This was the very first brand new car I ever purchased and other than my sales rep not knowing any more about the car then I did, the whole experience was a pleasure.

2nd Honda, no stopping in sight - 2004 Honda Civic
By flwr6pwr9 - September 1 - 10:00 amMy first Honda was a 5speed CRX, which I bought used and owned for 12 years. Had I not had to stop driving stick shift Id still be driving it. Unfortunately, I had to give up a lifetime of little sports cars and grinding gears, so I found the next best thing--the CIVIC EX Coupe. What a fantastic car. I still havent used all of the bells and whistles, but when it came down to having a car with bells and whistles or a barebones Accord, Id pick the former. I dont know that Ill ever own a car other than a Honda again!

By GaryJTN - August 9 - 3:56 pmI traded an 02 Si for this 04 and I love the larger wheels and the sharper design of the headlights and taillights. Handling, cornering are fantastic. Engine noise. What engine noise? The engine loves to rev so even city driving is fun.

What a great car - 2004 Honda Civic
By Rich JC - August 6 - 10:00 amI drive more than 150 miles a day and this car is quiet smooth and comfortable. On top of that, I get between 45 and 50 miles per gallon and more than half of the trip is at 70 MPH. The car now has over 9,000 miles on it and so far I have had no unscheduled maintenance and no failures. Ive driven into the mountains, out to the desert, and all over town and I look forward to my daily drive.
