A host of minor changes bring the Civic into 2003. On the inside, all models gain improved seat fabrics, rear adjustable outboard headrests and new four-spoke steering wheels. On HX, LX and EX Civics, you'll find improved gauge illumination. There's a new center console for LX and EX, and a CD player is standard for HX and LX. On the outside, the 2003 Honda Civic has freshened taillamps and new wheel designs. Also, there is a Hybrid Civic available for the 2003 model year.

Pros:
  • Fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engines, roomy interior, reputation for durability, impressive crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Antilock brakes not available on DX or LX.

  • Amazing Car! - 2003 Honda Civic

While shopping for my first new car, I drove every compact and mid size under the sun and the Civic was the obvious choice. The Civic was my first foriegn car and Im kicking myself for driving all those American pieces of junk for so many years(except American trucks)! The manual EX is exciting to drive with nice acceleration and seats that hug you like a race car! Combine the performance with a moonroof and a 6 spkr sound system and you have a winner.

  • Great Car for the Money - 2003 Honda Civic

Its a great car with good fuel economy and its fun to drive. I had trouble dealing with a Honda Dealership and them not wanting to cover a repair under warrenty and thats about it the metal should be thicker to easy to get a door ding.

Ive had this car for only a month now and so far I love it. For the price I got it for, I was very satisfied with the standard features it came with, such as CD player, sunroof, and VTEC engine. However, I do not like the fact that the seats constantly have lint on them, the car gets shaky once you hit around 70 mph, and that leather wasnt an option. Also, being short, I find that the headrests in the backseat do obstruct view somewhat. Aside from this, this car has exceeded my expectations!

This car is great on gas and costs so little upfront. This is the direction that all cars should be headed!

Love it. Its exactly what we needed. We live in L.A., and the 5- speed makes the load of driving we do here fun and effortless. Great gas mileage, and lots of fun all around. Great stereo system. Could use a little thicker gauge steel for the body, but the safety ratings make us feel secure. My wife puts 50 miles a day on it back and forth to work, and its just smooth as velvet. Thanks, Honda and thanks, Norm Reeves Honda of Hundington Beach for the great deal. Get the mud guards, the keyless entry/alarm, and an extended warranty, and youre good to go for several years.

  • A Solid Compact Car - 2003 Honda Civic

Leased it brand new a year and a half ago. I put on quite a bit of highway mileage the first year. It handled nicely on the 25-30 Mile commute to and from work. On much longer drives (>100 miles) the seats become uncomfortable and lower back support is poor. Performance is good for zipping around town by yourself. Get 2-3 people in the car and your enjoyment decreases greatly. Drive up an incline with passengers and get ready to give it the gas. Transmission is amazing, ultra smooth even under hard acceleration. Engine noise acceptable, but buzzy at higher RPM which you will notice because to get decent acceleration the car must gear down and rev up a lot. No real complaints

  • Civic SI - 2003 Honda Civic

I love my civic si, although it was recently totalled. But it held up very well! I am extremely impressed and cannot wait to get my new si once their insurance company pays for the old one.
