Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Great car, fun reliable, sporty(sort of)However I have minor 3 beefs with this car, 1. damn uncomfortable seats not great for long commutes. 2. arm rest sux 4 inches too short, fixed for 2003 3. sound system could be better

  • Honda knew this car needed more torque! - 2000 Honda Civic

I have driven this this car since new for 70000 miles. Overall a good reliable car and fun to drive on flatter roads and curves. Engive loves to rev, but low RPM torque is *very* weak. Its difficult to start from a dead stop up hills with steeper grades (especially when youre with passengers) - the engine just doesnt generate enough power unless you really rev it and burn the clutch! MPG in my opinion is average - 25.5 over life of the car with "normal" mixed city/hwy driving - and requires premium fuel. The original front brake pads lasted over 60000 miles for me.

No problems with this car(it has an auto tranny. Emissions related sensor was replaced after two months of driving (no problem since replaced).

This is my second civic...I love it. Its fun and stylish and w/ gas prices lately...you cant beat it. $14 to fill it almost every two weeks! I have never had a problem w/ either civic. If they keep making them this way, Ill keep buying them!

  • The trick is to drive like a grandmother - 2007 Honda Civic

The more miles the car gets on the odometer the better gas mileage is achieved. Important point The cars computer gas mileage is off by 4-5 miles. In a hybrid, the trick is to drive like a grandmother.

This vehicle is very fun to drive and very dependable. The gas mileage is great, yet it can get up and go if necessary. The overall body style is nice and sporty. Also, I owned a 98 civic LX and when I traded it in it still has a lot of life left. Hondas can easily reach 200,000 miles and keep on running! This car is very nice for the features as well as the price.

Honda has some serious quality problems with their Canadian built Hondas. The hood doesnt even line up right with the fenders. Numerous rattles in the dash area that the dealer cannot fix. The seats are not comfortable on a long trip. The redesigned dash is overrated. Gas mileage is terrible around town (22) On a freeway trip it gets 42 mpg which is good. Too much plastic in the interior which gives the car a cheap look. I just wish I had looked around longer before buying this car. My next car is going to be built in Japan by people who have pride in their workmanship-probably a Acura TSX. This will be my last Honda. For 20k it isnt worth it.
