Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Decent Car - 2000 Honda Civic

I got my 2000 Civic in Aug. 2006, and it is a decent car overall. I like that it gets good gas mileage and that it is very reliable, but Honda could have made it a lot better. First off, the LX does not have ABS brakes, even though my 94 Integra did (which is built by Honda), and my Civic does not have too much HP, its around 104 HP. The inside does look cheap, but its comfortable. The exterior design is nice, but it does scratch and dent easily.

  • Disappointed - 2007 Honda Civic

I am very disappointed in this 07 civic lx sedan with automatic. It does not have enough power, and does not feel stable on the highway. I drove 94 and 97 civics in the past and I am disappointed in this one. The fuel economy is a LIE! This civic only gets about 29 mpg on the highway and 23 in the city.

  • Awesome Car - 2007 Honda Civic

I started working at a dealership and 2 weeks later I found myself trading in my 05 Si Hatch for the 07 Si sedan. Man what an awesome car everything about it is awesome performance, styling, even comfort and EPA is above average for the type of car it is. It gets better gas mileage than my 05 and the seats are much more comfortable, AND ITS GOT 4-DOORS.

  • Follow up - 1997 Honda Civic

Follow up tp be to my earlier post, 12/28/06. Confirmed that this car has an ABS, another plus point. Came across an exhaust crack issue. That was fixed by the dealer, no charge. I came to know that Honda was aware of this issue and they have extended the warranty to 15 years or 150K for this issue. Please dont be fooled to pay dealer approximately $1000 for this repair. Fixed pulley in the engine and now this car is at a point that I dont need to do any repair. I like driving it. Yes, it would be nice to have a little more horsepower but overall I am happy with this car.

I got my civic a year ago today!! It is the most easy and fun car to drive!! All though i wish it did have a couple more safety features. (ie more air bags, my car just has the driver and passenger front air bags.) its a great car, with an affordable price!

Until I started researching the new Si, I never thought that Honda Civic would be my dream car! Bought my new rocket on 12/23/05. One short test drive was all it took to fall in love with Si. Sitting in the cockpit you feel like youre in a high tech video racing game with all the digital gauges, shift light, and ambient red lighting. Build quality inside and out is excellent giving the car a feeling more like that of a $30K car rather than $20K. You can hear and feel high-performance as soon as you turn the key. Theres plenty of power at low RPMs for town driving but get up around 6,000 RPM and Si hits a new level of excitement!!! It has the growl of a rabid beast and flies!!! Availability of the new Si is scarce... production is only 15,000 for the first year. I was very lucky but these are very hard to find, especially without a dealer mark-up. Of course the low production means that this will be a car of iconic and collectable worth. The car itself is near perfection.

I bought this car for a 124 mile commute per day and it has served well. I got a very base model, but Im still impressed. Off the line its not great, but thats the price you pay for the gas mileage. Good stock stereo.

  • Once you go Honda, you never go back! - 2004 Honda Civic

I bought my Honda Civic because I needed a reliable car to commute over 100 miles a day. I drove it straight for 2 and a half years with just oil changes and regular maitenance, I never even had to change a light bulb! Although a 2 door coupe, the back seat still has a lot of room. Also, the car is still heavy enough to be great in the snow. This car is practicle, fast and basically a commuters dream.. I will never buy anything but a Honda again.
